Yes. I worked in "the world of electronics". But in this case I don't get the point of exposing the ground of a speaker to the outside. Speakers are usually closed loop. Exposing the ground could expose the circuit to extraneous noise.
in that case it’s not speaker then? and we go back to a loop is just a loop?

Russ..... That's a good point… Although at this point I've had it on there a little over a week and I can't see any scratches at this point. On my other iPods I had the protective case but of course it made it so much more bulky and it was made of silicon hard to get in and out of the pocket.

I always end up scratching my AirPods case. I’ve given up keeping them looking fancy. I’m not going to resell them so it doesn’t matter.
 
I bought one, and it perfectly prevents the loss of AirPods. Especially cases where AirPods fall out of pockets entirely, or when you forget them somewhere. Otherwise, a great alternative would be those on Ali express that also come with a case, or hook if you prefer attaching to bags instead.
