where did you get that info that its the same size as the air 13? it doesn't make much sense to me as its just slightly smaller then the 2015 15 inch pro model ,
you can see size comparison between those 2 models on top of each other in this video , 2:25

appleinsider I believe had a video review showing an air on top of it

13" Air:
Thick = 0.68
Width = 12.8
Depth = 8.94
Weight = 3lbs

15" 2016:
Thick: 0.61
Width: 13.75 (~1")
Depth: 9.48 (~0.5")
Weight: 4lbs (1 lb)

thats pretty damn close! I think its worth the extra screen. And to think about it further, I always hated that sharp edge of the tapered design if I was lazing on the sofa and resting the weight of the open clamshell on my stomach lol.

This reviews are upsetting, but kind of expected after last keynote. Last 2 launches (iP7&MBP) are so disappointing, I`m almost ready to jump ship, I`m hoping next gen MBP 15 inch will be better, but seeing the direction they are going I`m sure I will be disappointed again...

I`m almost ready to jump ship

yeah let's jump ship it;s gonna be AWESOME

I'm still good for the non-touch bar. They should have had a non-touch bar 15".

I have to admit I am looking at those videos of the touch bar and this thing annoys me and I'm pretty sure that if I will own it i will grow to hate it. a lot.

It's distracting , I don't want to have a little strip in the end of my keyboard that keep changing all the time with buttons I can easily and simply just use on the SCREEN like any other normal laptop. this was not a problem so I don't know why apple had to try and fix it.

I wonder how many people will end up disabling the touchbar completely, and not just have it fixed to one thing. Cuz, apparently it's not 'fixed' as it turns on and off all the time. (of course you can't turn it off though.)

If you can leave it on without any issues, I may reconsider. But still it's got me worried a little, and the non-touchbar is perfectly good. It's not like i'm going t really miss a touchbar.

If I didn't need the GPU power, the Lenovo Yoga 910 is the coolest Windows laptop design I've seen lately.

As for touchbar: I'm super pumped about it for manipulating the timeline in editing programs (FCPX, Logic, whatever) and using slider-based tools with better precision on Photoshop and lightroom. Can't see myself using it at all in everyday-type programs like Chrome and Mail or whatever, but who knows!

Can't wait to take the Siri button off the touchbar immediately upon unboxing and going back to pretending siri doesn't exist

I think Apples obsession with thinner is better is about to bite them in the bum, i think the Non touch model is the best buy of the range. Apple really should have made the machine slightly thicker and put in a bigger battery. If the battery life is really as bad as the reviews are saying i can see alot of people returning this in the 14 day return period.

I may have to switch my order to a non-TB version until Apple works out the issues with the Touch Bar.

I actually have also decided to just stick with the no TB version. I'm docked 95% of the time so wouldn't benefit from the TB in everyday use. Plus the lower power CPU and battery life are more important for me personally. I feel like I would be looking down at the keyboard all of the time, which would actually slow me down.

I am grateful I have the money to enjoy a brand new Mac Book Pro. It will be the best one I've ever had.

My guess about the battery life is that these reviewers cranked up the brightness especially when testing it outside. Yes that is a real world scenario but if you expect to have a brighter screen on max you should expect the battery to be lower

Here is the Ars Techica review. Not much of a review, in my opinion.

The touchbar turns on and off at will by itself?

What?

I don't want something turning on and off like that. That would be very annoying. Burn-in, in this day and age?

I doubt it, then again, who knows. But if this is the case I can't use it.

Its only going to dim then turn off if you are not using the computer. So yes it may turn off while watching a long video but otherwise its going to stay lit while you are interacting with the keyboard or mouse.

Thanks, I realize this. But what if your not interacting and you want to do something, top row first? like volume? or anything. If it's top row first there's another step.

But that's not it really. I don't want it to dim. Just personally preference. I think (maybe wrongly), that this would bother me: just another distraction. Instinctively, it bothers me.

Again, I may be wrong, but i can't buy one now with these concerns. I will buy the non-touch one.
I used one and it's fantastic.

It times-out for battery saving. Like any screen. But that would be perfectly ok if you could disable time-out, like any screen, but apparently you can't. I can't buy this expensive laptop until i'm sure I can keep it on. Just wouldn't be wise, no? And sure, you might assume this would be an option with an update. Probably so, but you know assumption....

Ok, so I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off (sorry) :D just skim over these rants if you'd like. Just is about $$$$
But the more I think about this the more i'm sure. I constantly use the volume controls. All three of them: constantly, and when i'm not interacting, so it would turn off. I need them, and another step would not help.

I hope i'm missing something.

Given that you have a 14 day grace period upon receipt, you can always test the touch bar in store etc. That may or may not help with your decision.

I wish Apple would have offered another model that just had Touch ID ability. I would have gone for that one.
