Starting tonight until Saturday, they're offering a plan with 3750 minutes/texts/MB. Tethering is available for $5/month. Top up is $27.

I have the 4k/4k/4k plan now but I think I'd actually like to switch to the 3750 plan above due to it having a better monthly tethering rate ($5/mo vs $13/mo).

I clicked signed in and clicked on "upgrade plan" but it doesn't give me the option of selecting the "volleyball" plan in the list of plans available :(

Anyway you know of Channan I can switch my plan to this? (outside of paying $40 for 3 months of member+)

They generally don't offer upgrades. You usually need to sign up for a new line, but they'll occasionally offer upgrades through Classifieds. It's a stupid model. They should at least let you pay the required top-up to upgrade to a new plan.

Confirmed w/Ringplus...this ip5 won't work.

The dream is over.

Those w/phones that do...good for you!
Is the phone you bought not a Sprint phone?

It is a sprint phone and confirmed that it's not blacklisted. But it won't work w/Ringplus.

Neither sprint nor Ringplus would tell me more.

Positive it's a Sprint postpaid phone and not a prepaid Sprint MVNO phone? It could be locked to Boost, Virgin, etc.

Well, if I get the 7s (or the if Apple jumps the 'S' and calls it the ip8) and this free plan is still around, I'll be sure to sign up.

Just really wasn't worth the bother to have this Verizon 6s pull double duties as the Ringplus phone as well.

Ah, kk. Was hoping there was a workaround for upgrading to a different plan but no biggie as I'm still very grateful for the 4k/4k/4k plan you got me on. If anything I could always just jailbreak my phone to tether but since I'm getting such an amazing value on the free monthly cell service from RingPlus I'm more inclined to just pay the $13/mo for tethering to try and support them :)

Yeah. The cheaper tethering would be really awesome. I've seen plans with tethering as low as like $15/year. But I needed to learn to be happy with what I have and stop spending so much money on new plans with them.

Heh, for some on RingPlus it's like iPhones and always wanting to upgrade each year to the latest and greatest which I can definitely understand ;)

I take it then in the past you've paid for Member+ so you can upgrade your plan? If so which Member+ (month wise) did you end up buying and what plan did you switch from/to?

I never paid for M+. The first plan I got only had 500 MB with a $10 top-up. I got that with my iPhone 5s.

When I traded it in for an iPhone SE, the Phoenix plan came out that night with 2750 MB and a $27 top-up, so I canceled my first plan, lost the $10, and got the new one.

Then the Cheerful plan with 4000 MB for $29 came out, so I got a new SIM and signed up for it with my Moto X. I mainly use my iPhone SE, so I swapped the Phoenix plan to my sister's old Virgin Mobile iPhone 4, swapped the Cheerful plan to my iPhone, then swapped the Phoenix plan to my Moto X.

4000 MB and Sprint are good enough for me to take to work every day and most other places occasionally, so I leave my Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge with unlimited data at home with the hotspot on and only take it out if I plan on staying out a lot that day or travelling around to make sure I have the best service.

Bummed that ring plus lowered their data plans for the free accounts. I checked my son's phone and it can be used on ring plus and got a sprint sim in case they increase the plan again.

They didn't lower the plans. The good plans are limited time promotions. A good plan should be offered again within a few days.

There we go. New research plan is being offered tonight and tomorrow night from 5-7 Pacific.

3750 minutes
3750 texts
3750 MB
200 MMS
Tethering included
$27 top-up

It's been a while since they offered a new free plan with a decent amount of data, but that's what they just did today.

3500 minutes
3500 texts
3500 MB

You will get a certain amount of MMS every month equal to the number of people that sign up for this plan.

Tethering is 40¢/day ($12/month) and renews every day unless canceled. You can add and remove tethering whenever, but every time you add it there's a $1 activation fee.

Top up is $35.

The plan will be available from 7-9 Pacific later today.

Seems the top up fee keeps increasing though...$25 to $27 to $35 now.

Still a good deal if coverage in your area is decent.

Most people pay more than that every month. I'd still happily pay $35 one time and get all of that every month for no additional money.

Also, the previous plans didn't have free MMS.

Mine was $29 for my initial top up for the 4000 min/text/mb "cheerful" plan.

Knowing what I know now (that RingPlus is truly free) I'd happily pay even a higher initial top-up if I had to for it. $35... $50... hell even $100 is CHEAP for continuous free monthly service.

I mean, even the absolute cheapest prepaid plans out there are $30-35 per month instead of just one time top-up and free service from then on like RingPlus.

Yeah, I've been with them for over three months now. It should be coming up on about 3 months since I got the Cheerful plan, so even if they canceled it now, I would have gotten 3 months of service for $29 plus a few in taxes and fees, or only around $10/month.

But it doesn't look like R+ has any intention of canceling the free plans anytime soon so that number is just going to keep going down.

Looks like RingPlus will be offering a new plan tonight :)

$0/mo
8000 min
8000 text
8000 mb

New Activations = 8pm - 10pm tonight
Upgrades = 8pm - till sold out tomorrow

Both an initial $40 top up and the $120 member+ membership is required to get this plan (IMO well worth it as a one time $160 to get this amount of min/text/mb every month from then on for free)

Tethering available as an add-on for $9/mo if one so desires.

Today and tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, from 7pm to 10pm Pacific, there's a new free plan with:

2500 minutes
2500 texts
2500 MB
100 MMS

+250 MB/month for linking your Twitter, and tweet something nice about R+
+250 MB/month for posting a positive review of R+ on another site

Tethering available for 40¢/day ($12/month) but there is a $1 activation fee every time you activate it.

There's also a free add-on option for unlimited data throttled at 128 kbps that you can add on any day where you don't need full speed data that day.

Top-up is $30

New plan tonight! (I just switched)

BLT:

Each month, you get an additional 250 added to the above 4 categories until they reach 6,000.

Also tethering is only $1.99/mo.

New lines will need to pay a $38 top up at first to get the plan, while upgrades pay a $25 upgrade fee which gets added to your top up.

Cheers :)

Sorry to hear Channan :(

On the plus side though it looks like RingPlus is going to be offering the BLT plan again for new activations on the 23rd, and a # of upgrades on the 24th (6:30-9:30pm pacific time) based on how many new activations sign up the previous day : https://social.ringplus.net/discussion/7425/blt-free-plan-august-23-2016#latest

Hope you're able to get it :) (it's really an amazing plan, especially the $1.99/mo tethering!)
