I was not sure about upgrading my late 2012 2.9/8/768 rMBP to the new Haswell since the bump in speed and features was not that significant versus my unit and my use. However, did had my mind set that if I would buy it would be with the 16gb ram option for future proofing it for at least a couple of years. The spec I had my mind set was 2.6/16/512 since thought could get by with the smaller SSD since I'm currently using about 400gb of my 768gb. However, it all changed when found a deal for a sealed 2.8/16/1TB unit for $2400, so am happy for getting the 16gb ram option and biggest drive for less and without a waiting period!

i did money order 11/4 and will wait end of the December
Living in İstanbul
PS: Also waiting for my money back which i orderder (13" i7, 8 gB) 11/1 and canceled 11/2

Call the online Apple store and ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask for compensation!

For your information I contacted Apple to say I was pissed and they said i have two solution. change my order to 8GB of ram instead of 16 (they confirmed they are out of 16GB for the 13") or wait and they will proceed to a commercial gesture meaning i'll have some of my money back.

Guess if were you would then wait for the 16GB and the gesture, perhaps you end up getting the 16gb as a free upgrade !

I ordered mine last wednesday and had the 3-4 week wait as well, but then 2 days later this happened for some reason? And it is now shipped and I should have it tomorrow!

I hope it's not a different product?

Apple does not sell "refurb" units as new. Urbaninja: check out my post on how to use serial number to check your unit. (Your invoice will have the serial number) Or go to: this site or everymac to enter your serial number to check out the specs.

Mine still shows 3-4 weeks! :( Ordered 13rMBP
2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
1TB Flash Storage

Great to hear!

Upon suggestion found here I called Apple and they offered me either an amount off my order or to send me an accessory of my choice worth slightly more than the discount (such as a sleeve or printer). They were very nice about it. Now that is Customer Service!

updates?

Have any people received any updates or changes in their orders?

I ordered a 13"/2.6 ghz i5/ 16gb /256gb on 11/7/13. My order is still showing as processing with a pick-up date of 11/29 (i decided to have mine sent to an Apple store as I live a few blocks away and I'm not usually home during the day). However, I noticed a new pending charge (roughly equal to the cost of the laptop) from Apple on my credit card this morning.

Has anyone ordered from B&H Photo Video before? I just noticed that they have a 2.8/16GB/1TB 13-inch in stock. No tax + free shipping at least in my state. Or would I be better off waiting and ordering through Apple?

B&H are great. Bought AppleCare + a keyboard stand from them a couple of years ago. Zero complaints. They're very well-established in the online shopping universe.

That said, I've never had to deal with returns through them, and so if you're prone to QC paranoia like I am you might be better off ordering from Apple instead--or be willing to go to an Apple Store for warranty repair should the need arise.

Yeah, that's why I want to order through Apple. Don't want to take any chances of getting a bad screen. Not to mention Apple's generous holiday return policy going on right now.

I sent back my 16GB 13" after a week because I couldn't find the time to test whether it was (for me) actually worth the price I had paid.

Now I feel stupid for not keeping it since I could have sold it at a considerable gain instead :p

Some resellers have the 16GB configurations in-stock, and ready to ship.

Macmall, B&H Photo

Even some Apple Stores have them on hand. (You need to ask them to check in the back)

Don't think you would have profited off an opened/used rMBP.

Does Macbook pro 13 16gb really exist ?

When looking ifixit web site, on the teardown macbook pro 13 late 2013 page, it appears that on the motherboard only 8 DDR3 chip can be put on this motherboard.
But elpida or micron does not sale ddr3 chip with higher capacity than 8Gbit, so the motherboard which is inside the 4 GB macbook can not have an higher capacity than 8GByte because of the 8 chips.
It seems that the motherboard for 16 GByte should be different.
But for the macbook pro 15, also on ifixit web site, the motherboard has the capability to get 4 * 8 DDR3 chip, it means that the macbook pro could be upgrade until 32 GByte if 8Gbit DDR3 chips are used.

I am not sure that i will get my macbook pro 13 the 17 december, if a different motherboard shall be produce .....

man you guys were lucky. Now I wish I would have placed my order too :D I have a feeling if I were to do it now though I wouldn't be able to get the discount out of them ;)

Hell to the yes! I've been checking a few times a day, and now 13" 16GB RAM orders are down to 1-2 weeks. This is what I've been waiting for. Now I can finally place my order.

I had a feeling the estimates would drop sooner or later, so I really didn't want to place my order but not receive it for a month.

I'm not sure exactly what picture you're talking about, but is it possible that there are 8 more chips on the back of the board, as they had last year?

Also, the 16GB 13" rMBPs definitely do exist… I'm on one right now.
