Well this is annoying - if you order a new 13" Macbook Pro with 16GB of RAM the shipping time is 1-2 weeks. Yet my Order History still shows the one I already ordered (configured the EXACT same way) not coming for another 3-4 weeks...
Hoping they just aren't updating anything. I called in and the rep was confused and suggested I cancel my order and post another one (which just doesn't make any sense).

Holding off ordering mine until it goes back to normal.
I ordered this morning, 13 inch/2.6/512/16GB and the expected delivery is 12/6-12/13. I was originally going to just get 8 GB when the shipping was 3-4 weeks (need it by xmas) but when it dropped to 1-2 weeks I bit on 16 GB. Hopefully they meet the expected time frame. I don't have much experience with Apple so I don't know if these estimates are usually accurate.
By the way, I ordered it through the edu store for 1879, vs 1999 on the regular store. There wasn't any verification process. What's the deal with that? Why would anyone order via the regular store?
Hello guys,
I am just getting crazy ! I was waiting for my 13" 16GB MBP already for 18 days until it was finally shipped. It should be here in Germany last friday already - but the UPS Tracking shows an "Exception" !
Last scan was in Almaty, Kazakhstan- and shipping progress not move anymore. Maybe some cameleers already play with it in the desert
.
Must call UPS tomorrow and ask what happened - hope I dont have to wait again cause the package got lost .... !
Harry
Got your machine already?
The more i wait the more I want to cancel my order and maybe get a 15inch rmbp ...
Just wait if the 13" is what your heart desires.
It is but I keep reading posts from 13" owners saying they have IR and there is only LG manufacturing screens for the 13". Since I know that the 15" inch have screens from Samsung without IR I'm considering getting one instead ... The base model shoule not be more extensive than the 13" i have ordered with the educ discount ...
It seems like the 15" has way more screen problems than the 13".
Because Samsung screens tends to be yellow tinted while the LG have a better uniformity. Problem is LG do have IR even if you can't see it right out of the box and I do not want to be screwed in 2 months for a machine I bought nearly 2000 ...

You folks in the EU get better warranty policy than us in the USA, so you should be covered anyway if IR occurs down the road. In my case, I bought Applecare so I'm covered for 3 years.

Yeah, I went ahead with AppleCare as well even though it's probably going to be a waste of money for me. But I'd rather pay the money for it than always be worrying about it. At least I know it's there. Besides, it's only $183 with the education discount for the 13".
And the fact that AppleCare for Macs has worldwide support is really good.
