:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: that's a lot of cycles in 3 months!!!!

i travel alot daily and do my work while travelling, the magsafe2 kind of gets in the way while working so i keep it for charge when i am not doing much and then disconnect and work on battery. Luckily this retina gives a good battery time so at the most its charged 2 times a day or lesser. Gives me about 2 1/2-4 hours on battery. 70% brightness wifi on and lots of audio visual work.

There's no need to disconnect and run on battery if AC power is available. Excessive cycles can shorten your battery's life, just as never cycling it can. Run on battery whenever you need to and plug it in whenever you can. You can plug or unplug any time you need to, regardless of the charged percentage, and you never need to completely drain your battery. Just make sure you don't run on AC power exclusively, as your battery needs to be used regularly to stay healthy.

Hey mate i appreciate your advice but I am near an ac outlet for around 2-3 hours max and around 5-6 hours at home or lesser at times.

302 cycle, 1.2 year.

10 cycles on the battery. I've had it since January 2013 :) It's mostly used whilst plugged in to the mains, as you can tell ;)
Not today though - I'm cycling today :)

After 9 month: 377 cycles, 92% health. I don't pay any attention to the battery, I just use the laptop.

Exactly!

My cMBP has only 197 when I bought it a few weeks ago and I just use it normally...considering a replacement battery is only $60-80 and takes 5 minutes to change its not a big deal...

Purchased 9/5 (so a little over a month old) and have 28 cycles, 98% health.

I put three batteries through my '08 unibody, I'm hoping I won't have to do the same with this one.

I am getting about 4:30 out of a full battery charge on my 2 months old 15" rMBP ... - is this normal??

Early 2013 rMBP 15", purchased in June 2013. Currently at 348 load cycles and 91% health. Used as my work laptop, so plugged in all day in the office, but run on battery in the evening and early morning before work. At the weekend almost always plugged into the mains at home.

I own a late 2013 15" rMBP. The age of the battery is 1.1 years. There are 340 cycles on the battery with 94% capacity. At the current rate of battery consumption that puts me at about 83.5% battery capacity after 1000 cycles.

I understand that Apple warranties the batteries to be 80% capacity after 1000 cycles. So I guess I am doing a little better that expected.

Don

Here's my data from a one-year-old 13" rMBP--Coconut Battery's tracker says that I have a worse-than-average dropoff when it comes to loadcycles and battery capacity. Should I be unhappy?
