My advice is don't be concerned with battery cycles and just use your laptop without worrying about it. I tried to limit cycles to preserve the battery and it made no difference.

My MBP is four years old with only 720 cycles, but the battery has recently displayed the "Service Battery" notification, indicating a loss in capacity. Batteries can die without lots of cycles, so just use the laptop and enjoy it.

Husband and I purchased our rMBPs at launch last year.

Mine:
Cycles: 130
Age: 1 yr
Capacity: 94.8%

Husband's:
Cycles: 59
Age: 1 yr
Capacity: 99.2%

Yours doubles the cycles from your husband's, so guess is used more? : Are they spec wise the same?

The "Service Battery" shows if there is a problem with the battery, but it also shows when the health drops below 80%, even if the battery is healthy.

I'm at 97% battery, 11 months old, 139 cycles

RMBP 2.6/16/512

My love for this machine is still at 100%.

Including the fact that it hasn't been upgraded yet and is still the dominating machine on the market over 1 year later .

They are exactly the same in terms of specs (2.3Ghz i7, 16GB RAM), and we mainly run off of battery. I do use mine a bit more than he does. I think the main difference between our machines is that I run Windows through VMWare Fusion to access Quickbooks (the Mac version just isn't as good!), and whenever I do, it drains the battery much faster.

Do you also tend to use more CPU-intensive programs, with the rMBP getting warm/hot? Heat is the enemy of batteries, and it's possible that the additional heat, produced by CPU-intensive programs, shortens the battery lifetime.

What? In what is this based? Apple guarantees a 20% loss after 1000 cycles. That's 700 cycles more than what you're saying.

It used to be 300 cycles, for MBPs with removable batteries. It's 1000 cycles for the built-in batteries of all recent Mac notebooks.

Had this computer since the first week it came out last year?

Wished that the battery life is longer on the rMPB. I'm on it all day and constantly charging this thing!

13 month old retina MBP - 65 Cycles, 99% health.

Not been using it as much since I got an iMac in December otherwise I am sure it would be higher. Still in love with the machine though.

I notice that it runs warm when I use VMWare Fusion. Other than that, none of the other apps I use on a regular basis are too CPU-intensive.

I have a 2012 cMBP, but I have a question. I got my MBP on October 5, 2012 and it already has 68 charge cycles. Is the amount of charge cycles appropriate for the computer's age? Also, how do you find out the health of your battery?

There's no hard rule about how many cycles is appropriate, as everyone's usage habits are different. Run on battery whenever you need to and plug it in whenever you can. You can plug or unplug any time you need to, regardless of the charged percentage, and you never need to completely drain your battery. Just make sure you don't run on AC power exclusively, as your battery needs to be used regularly to stay healthy.

If you're not already doing so, use iStat Pro (free) or iStat Menus ($16) to get accurate readings of battery health and cycles and computer uptime, among many other things. A forum member has posted a copy of iStat Pro that has been "tweaked" to enhance compatibility with Mountain Lion. You can download it here.

The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.
