Does your contact at apple have anything to say about the scrolling, mission control, window resizing lag? Or the screen ghosting? Curious to see if any insider knows whats going on with all that...

you nick pick too much.

Thunderbolt is a big revolution, as it can handle video post processing cards as well as HD devices as fast as the internal one.

Well that's freakin false. Only if you like 4x PCI lane video cards circa 2001 will it be as fast as an internal. TB is more a storage revolution (and an expensive one at that)

My location (Apple Store Oak Brook, IL) has all 3 models available in store. Most of them are base and they get about 2-3 per day of the top of the range model.

Ordered Ultimate model (2.7/768GB/16MB) on June 11 via Business Unit. Finally shipped today June 27th. Delivery scheduled for July 2.

As soon as someone receives a 768GB model, can please post the SSD model and brand and a benchmark of the disk speed?

It's vital to understand if we were treated as well as the 256/512GB guys (Samsung 830 controller, Model SM256E and SM512E), or apple tricked us into lower-quality Toshiba SSDs or something.

So please, post this ASAP when you get one of the 768s! :)

Yes to all of the above.
Upon release I was refreshing my display so the moment Apples online store opened I placed my CTO for a fully maxed out model.

Then a day later the manager of my local Apple Store called & asked if I wanted one. I do so much business there, they are happy to keep me informed. By then my wife decided she wanted one, so I stopped at the store on my way to the office.

Last Friday as promised FedEx delivered my CTO model at 10:05 AM.

PROOF ? take a video of you doing a geekbench test and show the product / about this mac. Put it on youtube, otherwise gtfo this forum.

just ordered my ultimate 2.7/768GB/16MB via Business store... delivery 25th July here in Sweden, cant wait :D

I too am one of the future maxed out owners. Do a lot of work in music, and figuring that I'm majoring in music business and also wanted a mac to procrastinate with *cough* a few games *cough* decided to go all out and beef it to the max...

I ordered the 19th and I'm still waiting.. Figuring that all the base models are rolling out; I would expect Apple to ship the maxed out soon... I hope..

Expected to arrive Jul 17-23.. Keep pressing refresh.. No such luck yet.

"/dev/toaster" got his a couple of days ago. (He's been well established as a 2.6/16/768 orderer.) He posted a screenshot showing that it is indeed a Samsung 830 controller.

You can look through his posts if you want to see the actual screenshot.

Ultimate rMBP finally arrived.

The disk says:

APPLE SSD SM768E:

Capacity: 751.28 GB (751,277,983,744 bytes)
Model: APPLE SSD SM768E
Revision: CXM90A1Q

I received my "ultimate" (2.7/16/768) MBPr on Monday, July 2. It shipped from Shanghai on Saturday, June 30. I found that transit time pretty impressive. Good job FedEx!

Anyway, the reason for my posting is that something curious happened with this order. I ordered within minutes after the store went back online following the announcement. As soon as I clicked the 768GB SSD option, the delivery time jumped to 3-5 weeks. Out of curiosity, that night in bed, I wondered what kind of delivery time they were quoting after (I presumed) a lot of orders that day. So I configured the same machine and, ODDLY, was quoted a 2-3 week delivery time. I went ahead and ordered a second one, just in case the dates were somehow actually correct, figuring I could just cancel one or the other depending on what happened.

The next day I called Apple to ask about how the delivery time could possibly have been shorter on the second order. The guy was somewhat mystified but consulted with a manager and their suggestion was that I cancel the FIRST order. Not believing them, I didn't do that.

Well, when I got my shipment notice this past Saturday, guess what? It was the SECOND one that shipped. So I canceled the first one. How their supply chain works is anyone's guess I suppose. Different factory?

Anyway, what a nice machine. I haven't been this impressed with a computer in a while. I'm running it right now at 1920x1200 and it looks great. Perfectly readable and still much sharper than any other computer I've ever seen. My other Macs look blurry now! It's cool being able to decide if you want ultimate sharpness or to see a bunch of stuff. By the way, my SSD is a Samsung: SM768E.

Mkush, would it be ok if I sent your story to an apple manager and asked them to talk to you?

WTF, I ordered a $4K+ rMBP June 2nd and my order is still 'Processing'. I have the worst luck, maybe ill just cancel my order and re-order when i know ML will come preinstalled.
