Just unboxed mine - wow what a machine, lovely screen, fast, light, brilliant! Very happy.

Did the ghost test mentioned in another thread (dark grey bg with safari open for 10 mins) - think i can see slight ghosting but nothing major

Got mine in the UK yesterday (2.7/16GB)

This is the SSD info:

Model: APPLE SSD SM768E
Revision: CXM90A1Q

Right on, one of my favorites, just a straight up bad ass ride that can be a lady in the streets and a freak of nature on the track.

The acceleration still astonishes me to this day... that F1 derived V10 is really quite unique. Kills me at the pumps though...

Test drove the new F10 M5 and the TT V8 in that just isn't the same :(

Thread officially high-jacked! :p

Hahaha. Seems to happen a lot on MR, though it's usually two people starting an argument about something extremely minor :p

Ya dude, I’ll talk cars all day and BMW M Class, forget about it. It never gets old 2 me.

That V10 is amazing, when I road in one my boy put a $100 bill on the dash and told me if I could grab it, I could have it.

Let’s just say I am NOT $100 richer... He does have some Dinan parts on it but still, the thing is a beast!

You have the rMBP of 4 door saloons! Lol

Haha, I'm surprised the bill didn't fly off the dashboard :p

Nice, I've been looking at some mods lately but can't bring myself to bite the bullet just yet. It's already a pretty quick car when it's stock.

I've only got an RPI air intake & pulley and some high flow air filters right now. And of course some extra sticky Michelin PS2 shoes ;)

Nah, I don't think so. The rMBP is the future of computers since it abandons older technology... and I doubt we'll be seeing a V10 in any future BMW road car. If anything, the new M5 is the rMBP- abandoning old stuff (naturally aspirated engines) for new-age stuff (twin-turbocharging).

you guys are making me jealous! i'm still piddling around in a 2007 335i.
the only mod i've made to it is added an x1 sunglass case where the driver hand hold is.

What about the Cadillac CTS-V? Or does the V-10 M5 beat it?

I don't think it's cost intuitive to purchase a vehicle if you'll only be in the city for 23 days.

But seriously, you should start a new thread. We've hijacked the thread but your question is neither relevant to the OP or the new direction this thread is taking.

335s aren't bad at all. In fact, if I didn't need the rear legroom, I'd probably have one- I'd take a chipped 335 over an M3 tbh.

The M5 should destroy it in a road course environment. The CTS-V is a brute, but still over 2 tons...

Acceleration from a stop, the V is no doubt quicker. Supercharged V8 equals massive torque.

Where the V10 excels though is in acceleration you actually use IRL (how often do you really need to floor it from a stop unless you're on a drag strip or are a 16 year old with a riced out Civic?), ie from a roll to overtake.

'Cool story bro' story: I was looking at getting a Panamera 4S back in Canada (my M5 is in Hong Kong) but there was a waitlist and earliest delivery would be mid-2013. Placed an order for a GTS and was now in the market for a temp car which I would be leasing. Test drove the CTS-V- loved the power, but the chintzy interior and awful multimedia system, not so much.

I could not have said it better, this guys knows his whips....But i still like the M5 V-10 better, but the CTS-V is FAST!!
