I would be very impressed if UPS stepped up and delivered phones on this Saturday. I realize that significant costs would be involved, but it sure would go a long way in repairing the damage that has been done to UPS this week.

One can dream, can't they, lol?

That would be nice but I am out of town this weekend, was really hoping for Friday.

I'm starting to think half the sept 19th shipment was lost/stolen/damaged and they are trying to re create orders. Most people just want to know where there shipment is REALLY. The back and forth and missing info is what's frustrating.

I don't think they are just holding orders back for specific delivery dates. I know people not on the thread that had one phone make it and one not.

My original window was oct 4-10.
My first emails said sept 23 from Apple and sept 22 from ups.

I was in the sept 19 china group. My phone somehow made it through. It has left Portland and should be here this morning.

If they (Apple/ups) would just ADMIT to everyone what happened to a good portion of the original sept 19 batch I think most would feel so much better!

WHAAAATTT, gotta be a mistake but the UPS app on my phone just said that my package is "Out for Delivery" I do have one from Amazon coming today but it had a notification for both. It's gotta be the apps mistake right? It still shows in China on the tracking.

I get notifications from UPS on the app at 1Am when a package hasn't even made it into the state yet. How can it be out for delivery when it isn't even within driving distance of me yet? They still have some bugs to work out there...

Apple has long had history in having their shipped products arrive by the date they specify. I have never had an estimated delivery missed by them. When they sent me the email, it stated 9/23 arrival. Even though UPS started with 9/21, then 9/22, and now black hole.

I also have scanned several social media sites over the last couple of weeks since the opening bell. And so many have immediately started with complaints on pre-order about the delay in their estimated time. I was shocked, not mad, but truly shocked that there were ranges of early october being handed out to people within 5 minutes of preorder. Forget those of us who couldn't get into the damn store to begin with. Think about this..... 12:03AM PST, and you are end of september at BEST. And by 12:05, it's slipping even further. I ordered at :22 after EST, and had a date immediately Oct 5-10. BAM. NEVER seen anything like this. Ordered in the first 30 minutes, and you never stand a chance for launch?

I've read a LOT. Apple likely DID bump their event by a week to gather those Note 7 flammable customers up. But even if they didn't, they completely dropped the ball. These should have started being made a week before launch. They have historical data. Don't anyone kid me. And in case someone says anything about iOS version not being ready, the version that shipped is already marginally different than the version that was released. This is not new.

Now, think about this. We have been scratching our heads on how some BEHIND others in line are getting the phones before them. Apples to apples, spec for spec. There were complaints. Does anyone really believe it's past Apple to say "Listen UPS, I don't care WHAT you do, these no longer come 2 days in advance?" They will field the complaints for being late, according to UPS timelines, because frankly, they are NOT late to Apples date to YOU.

So, let's assume Apple towed the line and put the breaks on this. If you have Sept 23, then you will likely have it Sept 23. On the other side of the coin, I would feel more comfortable if Apple told UPS, "bring them to KY and let them sit THERE". At least I would know my $1000 is stateside, and in secure place with much less third party factors including weather.
This is what the Apple rep basically stated, Apple is orchestrating the delivery dates. This is the same what they did for launch day deliveries in the past. If they could block ups from even providing all of these scan dates, they would but they cant and we are all confused by the bogus info in them. The rep told me the same thing we are seeing here, scans going from ZZ to Korea and back. Funny messages about delays in Louisville. Heck, our stuff could already be sitting at a US logistics warehouse/hub waiting to go to the local hubs. If 9/23 goes and we dont have out for delivery then its time to get mad!

This phone is going back as soon as it is received. Enough of this crap. Hope I can receive it before October 6 so I can return it (or if the can pull it from Incheon or wherever they are, they seem quite good at it).

Good luck with your phones. Hope you receive them eventually.

I will add this....I believe this is 3 "mechanical failures" in KY this week. I am not a theorist but somebody explain how they suddenly have this problem

So I haven't looked at a map to be sure but this may be why the phones are showing in China, then Korea, then back to China. Time Zones.

When we lived in Hawaii tracking packages was always difficult because of the time zones. A package would look like it had been in Los Angeles, Hononlou, back to LA, and then to Kauai where we were. It would make you dizzy reading that the package had bounced back and forth. In reality it stayed on one continual path but the tracking read differently because of being scanned in that locations local time.

Well if they want me to receive it tomorrow, the date that Apple gave me, why is it still sitting in Incheon this morning? I'm not getting it until sometime next week now.
Those scans are bogus is my biggest guess. Look at all of us who have these. Others who have "mechanical failures" Louisville, China/Korea/China. Scans from Korea/HK/ANC, all screwed up. If Apple says tommorow, they are the gatekeeper. and are telling UPS when they want these groups delivered in. I believe if Apple site says 9/23 then we should expect out for delivery tomorrow. I am not trusting the UPS junk anymore.

It is possible this is just a UPS screw up. Who knows. Guess we find out tomorrow if the Apple.com expected delivery comes through.

So you ordered the phone knowing that it had an October delivery but now because of delays, even though you will get the phone almost two weeks earlier than you originally thought, you are going to return it in a huff? Talk about taking your toys and going home!

I understand your frustration but damn, it ain't even October yet and this is an oct4-10 delivery date thread. We're being overly obsessive about our phones coming early, not late. Literally, first world problems.

Managed just now to reserve a Plus 128 gb Gold phone at a local store for pickup around noon. I ordered black and now thinking....do I really want gold. It will be in a case so......

This is likely a part of the trickery UPS is using to hide the holds that Apple is telling them to do so that orders arrive when they say.

The ****** part if that were to happen is that I am getting it shipped to an Access Point

And of course this morning a rose gold 256 7+ is available for reservation at the store 4 miles from me. /sigh.

I'm tied up in this stupid iUP program now though, even have the AppleCare+ and the serial for my phone that's in Incheon so I can't just cancel and pick one up.

I really thought we'd see a UPS update today. Disappointed. I love having ticking AppleCare+ and making payments for a phone that I don't even have yet.
