That's part true and part wrong. Imagine apple giving an order with the statement "deliver as such or we'll take our business to another shipper". They have more control than people give them credit for. $ MILLIONS of control points
I believe it, Apple has ability to control their supply chain including delivery to the customer. Launch day deliveries have been HELD until the day of launch before. Same thing as ones ready last Friday. I admit i've not seen this level of trickery on scans like this before, but I would not put it past them given Apple's orders.

Mine just changed to this within the last ten minutes. Oh boy.

A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible.

What was your last update? I don't see anything on my tracking info for Incheon, 8:01pm

I know it's not any more helpful because we've all gotten different answers, but I just finished a live chat. I didn't press too hard, I just figured I'd see what they'd say.

What I find funny is they tell me the whole "Apple operating plans" spiel, but then say they "expect to have this solved by the end of the week". How are they supposed to solve "Apple operating plans"?

My original delivery date was 9/23 (tomorrow) from Apple and UPS...but then it changed to 9/26 last night for Monday from Apple and UPS, but I just woke up to a notification from UPS telling me that it will be delivered tomorrow.

Should I expect it tomorrow??

Apple is not holding up items that have already been shipped. UPS is having hold ups with customs in South Korea.

Do you work for UPS? Sound like all the people I've spoken to over their trying to get me to believe that our shipment got held up in China for 36 hours do to customs issues, and then immediately on its next stop it gets held up for going on about 28 hours so far in customs again. (If you are to believe your iPhone is in Korea still). If this were true it would be impossible for companies like Apple and others to guarantee 2-3 business day shipping. Their isn't an * next to that saying 'pending timely release from customs where applicable'

Why would only our shipment get stopped, and twice? Why does it take days to get out of the customs prison UPS would like us to believe our iPhones have been in all this time. Not sure what to believe anymore, just sick of this whole process. Disturbing how many people got their iPhones days after launch by making a reservation, but those of us who weren't lucky enough to get our orders processed in under 6 minutes have to be put through this cra*.

I wouldn't get your hopes up... Only 1 flight per day from Incheon to anchorage.

Never said I was going to return anything.

In the future, please be more conscientious when quoting and replying. Just quote the post to which you are replying.
I meant to quote you because as I said, I agree with you.

I also did not say you were returning anything. Another poster said they are returning their phone because of the delays. I quoted you because I agreed with what you said and then added that I thought it was silly to return a phone in a huff.

In the future, don't be so grumpy.

Perhaps having is resolved "by the end of the week" IS the plan...

This apple operation plan is their plan to stagger the deliveries. Apple told them when to deliver. The rank and file agents dont have any information on what the real contract states other than they have a plan with apple on when to deliver to you.

Very strange I don't have that but I'm stuck in KOREA

I could have flown to Korea and picked the damned things up myself during this ridiculous wait. Countless flights have flown two and from the location my iPhones are "SUPPOSEDLY" sitting at for hours on end. If it is Apple's "operating plan" to intentionally delay the shipment of iPhones, then **** them.

Still sitting at 8:01 PM arrival in Korea. If there's a mechanical failure or some other bull**** delay, I am D-O-N-E with UPS. They're supposed to be logistics experts but they might as well be children with crayons.

Count me on the delay list:

Incheon, Korea, Republic of 09/23/2016 12:33 A.M. A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible.

Lol this mechanical delay is either a way to get them to deliver on the apple specified days or a way to make it seems like there is a delay and then magically have it to us early so we are happy, lol

Just got off of a chat with Apple, and this is what I was told:

"I do see UPS will be delivering the iPhone come tomorrow. They are updating the tracking later today to reflect that new update. I know it looked weird on the tracking but they are working on a massive shipment of those iPhones to do a super early delivery instead of waiting for the October delivery time frame that was originally quoted."

(I'm part of the 8:01 Incheon group btw)

For those with a UPS CC pick up, do you know if we're able to do so on a Saturday? Our flight out of Korea is way delayed so thinking it might not get to us by tomorrow :(
This is precisely the same thing I'm wondering. Since it will most likely not get here by tomorrow, I think it may arrive in ABQ on Saturday morning... will it get delivered to the CC on Saturday... that's the biggest question I have. I would love to be able to pick it up on Saturday instead of having to wait for Monday...
