that watch is not just gold... theres almost no rose in it at all.

anyways, i WISH i had the pizzaz to rock a pink iphone. unfortunately i'm old and stodgy. and the front of the phone is what i stare at all day, so it must have a black bezel.

All I know as a man in my 30s is that if it had come in a true rose gold color like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in rose gold, I'd have ordered it in a heartbeat. That AP rose gold is what I thought this color was going to be...so disappointing! And why they didn't do a deeper, richer rose gold with a black bezel, I'll never know.

As a woman who isn't interested in pink (whaaaat?!?!) and has always had an iPhone w/ the black bezel (whaaatttt!??!?!), I love that color. I was also disappointed that the new iPhone leaned more towards pink than the rose gold in your examples. Look at me, breaking all the MR stereotypes of what women like. (I also do not have a 6+ even though I carry a purse!)

I don't understand the obsession with men talking about the rose gold color. Not that men can't buy it, but it's obviously catering to those looking for a more feminine color, whether you're a guy or a girl. And please don't talk about this being about anything but color theory.

This is like saying the black iphone is masculine, which it is, but many women have it, which is fine.

I want JJ Watts to own this phone. It would break the internet.

Wow that's pretty pink...

Not pink enough :(

This has to take the cake for one of the silliest Apple "controversies" of all time. It's clearly intended to be Apple's take on a pink color. And regardless of your views on gender and color the fact remains that in general society views pink as a feminine color and you're going to see that women overwhelmingly choose this color. I think everyone can agree on that. It's Apple's attempt to create a color that caters to women. Any attempt to read more into this is silly.

The same controversies appear with the white phone. Too many people have gender hangups when it comes to colors. Pink used to be a masculine color.

I love people who complain about pink. As you can tell, I am a big fan of it.

False. The AP yellow gold is a very different color. Go look at it and you'll see. Those pics aren't the rosiest but I can assure you it's a rich coppery rose gold.

The iphone 6s doesn't need to be photographed next to other pink things. It needs to be photographed next to a gray card.

Well I'd wager there's way more men on this forum than women period.

And who said I didn't approve of men getting a pink phone? Just pointing out the facts that a) pink is viewed as a feminine color, whether you agree with it or not and whether you think it's right or not, b) Apple is targeting this color towards women and c) you will see a) and b) proven out in the wild once people get their phones.

All the articles I've seen have said its been produced by Apple to appeal to the Chinese market, no mention of being made to appeal to women.

Weren't people speculating that it's Apple taking another stab at catering to the Chinese market (as opposed to the braod category of women in general, since what's considered feminine and masculine differs from country to country and the iPhone isn't lacking in market share where women are considered in the US anyways)? Rose gold is, after all, considered to be very luxe (also, red and red tinted things are associated with prosperity so it could be that too).
I think pink is feminine to Chinese too.

Oh look, all the bigots and misogynists agree with each other. Color me surprised.

You sound just like the type of dude that would purchase a pink iPhone. The only bigot here is the one getting his panties in a bunch because ur all on ur own as far as that "pink has no gender" argument goes. Nonsense. It's 2015 and no one is allowed to feel a certain way because it may be frowned upon by the weak p*ssies that are being raised in this generation.

According to whom? The only sources I've seen with that claim were dubious at best

There are more sources in the article itself, and if you google it it'll bring up even more articles (a bunch of the scholarly variety). Sure, in the mid 20th c. up to now popular American culture has adopted the mentality that pink is generally considered more "feminine" and blue more "masculine", but I don't see why we need to continue to perpetuate that idea. Even saying "yeah I won't judge you if you're a dude and you get the pink iphone BUT fyi pink is considered girly" is so unnecessary and just reinforces arbitrary bs.

Back in the day a lot of Sony's ES line used to be available in Silver, Gold, and Champagne

My 18 karat rose gold wedding set is closer to the "gold" iPhone than the "rose gold".
