YUK ...

They removed the magnetic Charger ..

nothing new , just a stupid magic bar ... and they kept AMD graphics as well and ignored the Mobile GTX 1050 ... no DDR4

At least make a water spill resistant notebook ... Amoled Screen ... LTE ...

Wait - so you can't upgrade the SSD drive on the 13 inch? 256 GB is simply not going to cut it if you have music, pictures, videos, office apps, games, etc.

EDIT: OK they offer and upgraded SSD - they must have just updated the Uk web pages.

A Synology NAS with remote access, is a great option even if you get the larger SSD. ;)

Definitely going to be needing haptic feedback a la force touch on that toolbar - if it's going to replace keys then it needs to feel like a "key."

Tim and the boys club (exception of Angela) are resting in their laurels and ca$h. Apple should really get together with professionals and listen to their needs.
I am sure the donglefest, 16GB RAM, very expensive machines and complete disregard to the Mac desktops would not be on their list. I am afraid Apple is repeating the mistakes that almost killed them. Steve is not here anymore and honestly there is nobody on the boys club that will have a solid vision moving forward.

My thoughts:

It is much too small. Look at the size of a physical key compared to the Touch Bar. Such a pain to use.

It is in the wrong place. It is so awkward to be constantly reaching over the keyboard to use these buttons.

Touch means that you have to be constantly looking down. This goes directly against a large pat of the functionality of using a laptop or desktop; the advantage of only needing to look at the screen is dashed by the Touch Bar.

It seems that this misguided Touch Bar is an apt metaphor for the mess that Apple is in at the moment. Apple used to represent focus under Steve Jobs. Laser-sharp focus. That was his mantra. Yet with this Touch Bar, one is constantly losing focus by glancing down at the keyboard then glancing up at the screen. That seems to represent the lack of focus that typifies Apple under Tim Cook.

One or two others have mentioned this: I think that if they wanted to introduce additional touch functionality, they should have used the existing trackpad and created some icons around or in it. There is a large amount of space around the trackpad, and it is more natural to use that space for touch. That, to my mind, would have represented an organic development of the trackpad, and been a better application of touch.

Way too expensive. 15 inch model is ludicrous.
I totally agree, it's a ****ing joke. I was considering buying the 15" version before seeing the prices, but it's way beyond common sense. In Switzerland they are asking for $2,720 !!
Wtf...

I'm gonna buy the 13" but I'm getting real sick of apple, between ****** iPhones and ever-expensive mbp... and pricing policies made just to take advantage of people. $1,000 price difference to get the larger screen (well, and some specs they force down your throat).

I just hope the RAM is upgrable because I don't wanna pay $250 to have 16gb

<< major cynicism >> After today, I have an idea: ditch the entire Mac save the retina MacBook and maybe iMac. Have the MacBook have 2 USB-C/TB 3 ports, no headphones 12" & 14" screen sizes. Have the iMac lose all ports except 2-3 USB-C/TB3 ports. Go SSD only, no more Fusion drive. Bam! Save a bunch of money on R&D, or refocus on how to make the devices so thin, you get paper cuts.

MR forums has turned into a major cesspool of complaints. Every comment has been positive from people that have used it. The people that haven't are crying foul.

Paid shills and tech bloggers like an apple thing, what a surprise!
By the way, do you people look down at your keyboard when you type? Better be ready with the OLED Touch Bar (tm)!

FFS Emojis? is that really what the pro line up has come too??
Been a reader of Mac Rumours for years and years, I've have read through comments often but never had the inclination to comment. So flipping disappointed with this today, was looking at upgrading my 2013 Macbook pro in Jan...why remove Magsafe? I'm very used to paying the extortionate apple tax but why so little so ***** expensive, doesn't make any sense!

Same feeling here. I think they address pro-sumer segment since they killed the Mac Pro
