"You can now set an alarm with a song and not just a tone."

Apple should be ashamed that this is a new feature... Are songs still not allowed to be ringtones...?

Apple really is 10 years behind in some things (music ringtone, file explorer, file downloading), and they call their iOS advanced ...

In other news, empire total war has been released on map app store, forget iOS 6!

i was wondering if anybody was having a problem with slower sms and imessage speeds and weird wifi connectivity where it disconnects after downloading ios 6 ? please help

Two iPhone 4 & 2 iPad 3 had the weird Wifi disconnects where instead of logging into my secured network, it went to some non-existent Apple page. I could not connect to my own wifi network! I then erased the network settings on two of the devices, and these then connected after re-entering necessary information. The other two then decided they could connect for some reason. Anyway, all are now fully setup.

Wasn't trouble-free though.

it kept opening a non-existant apple site via safari, rebooted the phone and seems to be working.

Had the same problem. I clicked on "forget network" and reconnected. Then the "non-exisiting apple page" login went away and the wifi connection held.

Give it a shot.

yeah i got the same page but i have a 4s

Long time iOS fan, this release has me seriously considering a Nexus device to replace my 4S next year. As I was thinking last year, Apple without Jobs is not what it was as Cook isn't the brilliant nutcase that Jobs was...

Stuff IMO is looking progressively worse and worse as well. I think the whole smartphone thing is kind of dumb at times anyways and miss my simple dumb flip phone, might actually go back to that. Growing up in the late 90's early 2000's seeing arguments over cell phones today is very facepalm worthy.

Kind of gave Apple a pass since I was very impressed with the iPhone launch in 2007 and so forth. Droids are all getting way too bulky for my taste and I cant stand the updating and rooting the device is a big F that when I look into it.

Apple worked well with Jobs, without I believe over time there will be a slow bleed out. I didnt agree with Jobsy all the time, but the dude knew how to have a refined product more often than not.

Tried the GPS a little, worked well. Maps are definitely a large step back, a lot of the design choices are plain ugly and without jailbreak which is again for me a big F that, you can't change stuff. Forstall has sh** taste.

I love the update

Im happy with all the updates... Maps works fine by me in Manhattan and I love panorama and the ability to set a song for my alarm. Can't wait to use it on my iPhone 5 Friday!

Updated my iPad about an hour ago and it was smooth sailing. Haven't really played around too much, but it seems like everything is working well. Maps seemed fine to me, and Siri on the new iPad is an about time addition.

Trying to update my iPhone 4 right now though, and it says 5 hours to download. Servers must be getting slammed....although reading comments here maybe I don't want to upgrade the phone? Especially considering Im getting the 5 on Friday.

Won't upgrade…need Transit

Maps absent Transit is a non-starter. Really disappointed that Apple made this decision. I will not be upgrading to IOS 6.

Maps are Horrible even when you live in the US!

maps is horrible unless u live in the US

Transit directions are gone, no suggestion as far as 3rd party apps are being provided by the Maps app. Crappy experience all around. WTF were they thinking, most of their customers are urbanites...

my new ipad got bricked during installation :( damn! never had issues with any apple product ever....

what do i do now? it's just a few months old....i just hit the OTA install...it was going on for about 2hrs...i thought it was usual....at some point the screen was just blank....couldn't see anything, it was switched off..after waiting for another 10mins to make sure it actually is switched off, i hit the power button to restart it, now it wont turn on!

The apple logo comes up...blinks a couple of times...then goes off again.....and this repeats....apple logo blinks,..and goes off....

what do i do now?? take it to the apple store?

Wow, this update sucks on my iPod Touch too. Android is getting better with each update, iOS is actually getting worse

I admire all apple products, but damn... maps sucks. Interestingly I found that doesn't even bother me as much as the awful new scheme they went with. Why does the status bar go from clear to black and to blue in certain apps... I miss it being silver and black on the home screen. And WTF did they do to the music and phone (manual dial keyboard). Black worked, why did you change it with a random off white color :( :( :(

To fix wi-fi issues:
1- close out if all apps in multitasking
2- reset network settings
3- hard reset (2 buttons)
4- reconnect to network

these 200 new "features" as Apple calls them, are not worth giving up the most useful feature of them all --> free unlimited 3G wifi tethering

wonder how long it will take a jailbreak to come out for iOS 6...didn't take that long for iOS 5

i'll be keeping my 4S

To get Passbook to work you have to use the Safari in iOS6 and point to passsource.com. From there you can select all the retailers that support the Passbook for iOS6.

Well, IOS6 broke the wifi on my iPhone. Can't get it to connect to my wireless router at all. Looking at Apple's discussion forum it looks like it's a widespread problem. Between this and the crappy Maps app I think it's time to downgrade.

Four iOS devices (iPhone4S, iPhone4, iPad 3rd Gen, and iPad2) successfully upgraded to iOS 6 with no problems and wifi on all of them working fine.

App store password

What happened? I thought I would not have to enter my password to download free apps! Please someone tell me I'm missing the setting for this; I hate entering my password for a free app.

Also just an opinion. I know a lot of people have said they don't like the new look of the music & Phone app but I think it was tweaked to fit the styling of the iPhone 5. Which doesn't Help the people with the older gen phones! However for those of us upgrading i think it will look stunning again just an opinion!

Oh and as far as the bar on the top(sorry don't know the technical term) I think it changes to the blue colors in apps the involve embedded communication;like phone, text, email etc. again just what i have observed:)
