The notch was (And Still is) never a problem for me. But this would be a much cleaner look. But still, this is just concept art, I’ll believe it when I see it. But I’m still on board looking at the 5.4 purported iPhone debuting in 2020.

It would be nice but it's likely 3-5 years off before this concept goes from design to production.
This concept is already 3-5 years old. It only matters if the miniaturized components necessary are available in the quantity Apple needs.

The notch doesn't really bother me, but if they managed to keep the bezel small on the top and still have FaceID it would be great!
Not sure it will be a 2020 release though, they don't seem to have problems with the notch so they may save this new design for a future phone as next year the big news will be 5G and maybe a new design similar to the iPad Pro. Once they'll get rid of the notch they won't be able to change the design much, so 2020 seems to early to me from a marketing perspective.

It would be nice if they did but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't because I don't even notice the notch when I'm using my iPhone. It would be nice not to read any more notch posts.

I just purchased my Pro Max and I don’t mind the notch. On my iPad Pro, I use a tempered glass screen protector and the size of the notch is WAY smaller, or give the illusion that it’s smaller. I won’t be upgrading my phone until 2022ish, so props to Apple for finding ways to improve their products.

Hopefully this technology makes its way onto the Mac lineup because it makes FAR more sense to include Face ID on them.

This will need a "this side is up" arrow for the cameras/sensors.

Just goes to show can't please everyone, why bother trying? People have been complaining about the notch since it was introduced. Me, the notch has never bothered me. But I will accept a bit more bezel if it means a lot less noise from whiners.
I agree and I actually like the notch. Always have. I like that it something that stood out, and I liked the fact it was always there for functional reasons. But I also love the rendering above of a notchless iPhone. For me, whether or not they keep the watch, Apple design is a win-win. No whining here.

If true and it’s implemented in 2020, I will go all out on a Pro Max version of the next iPhone.
