Shrink the bezel, expand the price. 😉

I would gladly pay more for that design, and wouldn't even feel bad about it.... Because at least then I would feel like Apple is innovating and actually working for their Apple tax.

Makes sense. The part that doesn't: marketing.

When you draw a vector form of an iPhone as an icon, the most simplest form, today's iPhone is iconic and so was yesterday's. They both look unique when drawn next to others. Even when photographed they look different. Without this "notch" it turns into a rounded rectangle with an OS that others have steadily ripped off since Tim Cook decided Steve's wars weren't worth it.

Holding my Silver/White iPhone 11 Pro Max in it's clear case, the Apple is nearly invisible to glare unless viewed from a side angle.

I doubt they can get all of the necessary components into that space, but it would be pretty cool if they could.

Either way I’m looking forward to picking up a lightly used iPhone 11 Pro next year and selling my iPhone XS, total net cost to me under $50. I did something similar last week, and last year too. :p

So just back to a bezel phone. Innovation!

Better than a freakin' hole in the screen! Ideally, as at least one Chinese vendor has demo'd, cameras beneath the screen would be best. But of course there are challenges with that, being able to use that part of the screen for display while also "seeing" through it... maybe someone will innovate that and Apple can use it. Don't actually need Apple to innovate that, they just make it work well. Then every phone will really start to look the same, all screen.

Blah, blah, blah. All I see is flat edges are coming back. Can't wait. I've hated these round edges since iPhone 6 and will celebrate their demise. 4 and 5 were the best feeling iPhones.

And even with a notch, I will welcome flat edges.

The current notch, while a bit unsightly, for me, has solved the issue of ominous Red or Green bar that Apple used to let me know I was in a call or some other background process.

Not only that, I think the notch made it easier to remember the new swipe gestures (Notifications on the left side of the notch.. Control Center on the right).

I hated the look of the notch before I upgraded, and I won't miss it when it's gone, but it's been pretty much a non-issue from the moment I switched iPhones, and it's crazy how instantly you adapt to not having a home button.

Good luck fitting a case on that.
When I picked up my new iPhone 11 Pro Max, the Apple consultant in the store noticed that I didn't have a case on my present phone and he looked at my order to see if I had Apple Care +. I did. So he said that he was happy to see that my case was Apple care. Apple Care+ is your case.

The bezel on the iPhone X never bothered me, the notch does because of the less status bar we get and cropped videos/ photos... at least there’s no hole punch or a notch even tho I’d rather have a hole punch over a notch.. it takes time to reduce as much and they’re going a step forward with this. I’m very proud. I would be reconsidering upgrading from an iPhone X
