Ah thanks for the info on the regular remote. It’s so sensitive at times I haven’t mastered that yet, I still have issues of skimming forward and pressing play for it to go right back to the start. I think I’m better off sticking with ios remote .

You’re welcome. I occasionally have issues with rewinding to the start of a movie as well - tell Siri to start over again does the trick on most atv apps.

Does anyone here tend to use their iphone or iPad as a remote instead of the actual remote? I find it super easy, simple, and you can rewind/ff 10 seconds. I guess it’s more convenient to me since I usually have one device or another nearby or in my hands lol
I mainly use my phone for controls yes. I love the app

a sealed battery that you charge once a year is a negative okkkkk.
My mom replaces her stupid triple a's in her amazon remotes every few months and she calls me because she thinks her whole system is broken. Nope just the batteries. Why is this a negative again?

You like disposable remotes. I don’t.

That’s on top of the nonsense of putting a trackpad o in place of buttons.

Disposable? Uh this isn't a phone. This isn't something you charge daily. My 3 year old remote I barely charge once a year... Still... Batteries in these don't degrade like phone batteries do. Its much slower.
Its always smarter in my eyes to use rechargeable batteries when you can especially in this case. Who really wants to change out batteries a few times a year. Plug it into your iPhone charger here and there and you'll be fine for 5+ years with this remote. By then you'll want an upgrade.
As for the trackpad why would they put a trackpad UNDER the buttons. Think about that a little longer.
When you hold a remote your hand is where? Its resting on the side of the remote. So you'd be triggering movement on the trackpad while you're trying to use the buttons. The only place a trackpad should go is on top for a remote.
