They are as much the future as 3D TV's were.Foldables are the future.
I agree with your battery take. With cases most have cutouts for the camera so the bump is still pronounced. How was breakfast?I too would like to Samsung do this, if only to watch said product flop.
The problem is that a thicker phone with a larger battery is also a bulkier and heavier device, both to hold and bring around. As I stand now replying to this post while waiting in line to order breakfast, I am holding on to my iPhone 13 Pro Max. The thickness of the camera is immaterial here, only the thickness of the body and its weight.
Most people are also going to slap a case onto their phone, further increasing the thickness (which also partly nullifies the camera bump).
That’s why you design a phone around use case (eg: my 13 Pro Max lasts a day, so I am ambivalent to more battery life that I will never see or feel) rather than simply max out battery capacity just to win a meaningless spec war.
I meant, most cases are so thin the bump is still pronouncedI agree with your battery take. With cases most have cutouts for the camera so the bump is still pronounced. How was breakfast?

LOL. No. I've used foldables. They are absolutely the future of smartphones. They are as much the future as 3D TV's were.
interesting. I have the 12 Pro and it stays on. Even when I force close the app. It’s only when I turned off my phone and restarted that it turned off.True, but RAW files take up more space and RAW needs to be turned on manually every time you take a photo.
I would like to be able to toggle it permanently on. I would also like to be able toggle HDR on or off, as you used to be able to.
Camera bump is terrible, I also hate "fake buttons".
But yep, USB-C is major selling point for me. Count me in.
I do own iPad and few MacBooks Pro. And Android phone. All devices with USB-C. I'm waiting until Apple upgrades iPhone to USB-C, because switching to lightning would be huge downgrade for me.Do you not own a bunch of lightning stuff ? If iPhone is your only apple product seems like usb-c will be huge. Else it’s more accessory fragmentation with the collection
Long term it’s definitely good but
Hey, that almost looks like the prototype I found:Just found some leaked images of the iPhone 17:

I’m out on the pro if the cameras are that big.Sorry but the camera bump is out of control. It’s very prominent on my 14 pro, I can’t imagine it being any bigger than it is without looking even more absurd. If they can’t work out the periscope they should just stick with the current camera configuration for the 15.
