Good, maybe this'll force Apple to focus on their actual computer lineup. You know, Macs.
does anyone really need a "faster" iPad? It's an internet reading device...
Except Steve Jobs predicted that the iPad would replace the traditional computer.
How? They both have one port and a headphone jack.It even has more I/O 'ports' than the 12" MacBook.

Let's be fair here, the low chip yield is not really Apple's fault. Delays like this are also nothing unique to Apple's suppliers.
They don't want to. As it stands now they can bend the manufacturers over on unit pricing and fist them on schedule / production.Apple needs to take control over manufacturing and stop relying on other companies.
I agree- but you've kind of made my point. But what you are very clearly highlighting is a change by application developers, not iOS or the hardware. I'm a software engineer. Over the past 12 years, I've developed a framework that powers every website and web application that I develop. It has 20x more functionality today than it did 10 years ago, but consumes 1/10th of the resources.
It's up to application developers to *optimize* their software, and sadly, this is too-often omitted from the development workflow. I work in a company right now that has not cared about this over the past 5 years, and I'm left to clean up the mess. Optimization does matter.
I would be VERY VERY disappointed if Apple won't release an new iPad Pro in march
He missed the big one, porn watching device.....

SIM-card slot?
Yes. Because web pages are getting consistently slower with all the bloated crap and poor coding practices being used to make them. I can barely even browse MacRumors on my Air 1's A7 anymore it's so bad while the A9 in my phone handles it flawlessly.does anyone really need a "faster" iPad? It's an internet reading device...
Unfortunately yes!
If the march iPad be delayed , I won't upgrade my Air 2 anytime soon
Viewing MacRumors.com. Honestly I don't know if it's CPU or RAM cause it's not like I can upgrade just one or the other. But I used to be able to view this site fluidly and flawlessly on my Air 1. Now it's so painfully slow and prone to crashing I only use my phone (SE) or laptop to view it. And no, I assure you this isn't an internet speed issue. You're machine does not get slower it just isn't as fasted the new processors. Give me an example of an application that's grown to the point of needing a faster processor?
That is incorrect , Jobs compared the transition from desktop/laptop PCs to tablets with the transition from trucks to cars. And made it very clear "PCs are going to be like trucks. They’re still going to be around, they’re still going to have a lot of value, but they’re going to be used by one out of X people.”
He made it very clear that PC, like trucks today are very necessary, those who need them will continue to purchase them , no car can do the duties of a truck. On MR this quote is very much misinterpreted , trucks (PCs) are not going away, just most people do not require a computer to read email, surf the web, communicate , social media etc etc.
I think the words that @NachoGrande replaced with the ellipsis were "for the vast majority of consumers."Except when we're using it for photo editing, word processing, coding (without compilers unfortunately), note taking, music editing, drawing, watching movies, etc.
