Presumably, the fact the trackpad is there, adding these controls is a simple software update ... they have to save something for the 22nd ;)

Something lovely: For 27-inch iMac, they finally supporting Video in!

says "supports input from external DisplayPort sources (requires cables and adapters, sold separately)".

Does it mean now I can connect my MacBook (late 2007) into the new iMac as the secondary display also?

I have a MBP (17", Santa Rosa, June 2007) and wonder the same thing. If the answer is yes I'm not sure I´ll survive. :)

One more thing...

The Apple Remote has been upgraded.

$2618 for a 2.8GHz i7 with 2TB drive and Applecare. There's no point in getting additional RAM through Apple.

Sold.

I didn't make the iMac purchase before, just for this reason. I want to own a great Mac desktop, but it's totally unacceptable that I couldn't make use the big iMac screen when I need to operate the Macbook at home.

Most people hasn't noticed, but there is a revamped Apple Remote too. It's metal and smaller.

Is there any reason to purchase the low end Macbook Pro now that the Macbook has been upgraded? What does the additional $200 for the Pro get you?

The uk MacBook price has risen by £50...

Wish I'd just bought an old one now...
