27" imac 2560x1440!! Never expected this, yeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!

*dancing*

So this is what heaven feels like.

I've just exploded!! :D

Just hope that when the UK store comes up the $999 MacMini Server is a sensible price in GBP!

Now, where's my credit card!?

I can almost cope with Christmas ads on the telly now as I'm just about to buy my Christmas Presents to me!!

So, this is how Apple steals the thunder from Windows 7.

Windows 7 never had a chance against this update, especially considering how much of a pain in the ass it is going to be for a lot of people to update to W7.

Magic Mouse

Looks pretty cool, but I was surprised at the lack of advanced gestures like pinch and rotate. I wonder why? I don't have a current gen macbook pro, but aren't those gestures already supported on the MBP trackpad?

The 27" iMac is compatible with the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for use with wall mounts and articulating arms. I can't see the Mount Kit, because the Apple Store is down, but it sounds pretty nice.

They have been around since October last year on the Aluminum MB.

Presumably, the fact the trackpad is there, adding these controls is a simple software update ... they have to save something for the 22nd ;)

Just wish the store would come back up! Talk about teasing us!!

Why does the new macbook still weigh more than the 13" Macbook pro? Isn't aluminum heavier than plastic?

Something lovely: For 27-inch iMac, they finally supporting Video in!

http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html
says "supports input from external DisplayPort sources (requires cables and adapters, sold separately)".

Does it mean now I can connect my MacBook (late 2007) into the new iMac as the secondary display also?

Does that mean consoles or cable boxes can be plugged in somehow?

New remote:

Have to say......

REALLY impressed. The 27" with 2 quad core options is way more than most of us expected.

Wow.

Ordering one asap.

Hate to play Captain Obvious, but perhaps because they don't want to cannibalize sales of the more expensive products (Air, MBP13) with the cheaper one and so probably did not focus on getting it as light as possible...? (Not saying there aren't technical reasons as well.)

Magic Mouse sounds pretty interesting. I may have to hop on that.

It would have been nice to see the availability of a Blu-Ray upgrade.
