Come on...

Come on Arn,

Its quite clear that Gruber was being sarcastic.

He didn't mention his "little birdie" in the post even once, which is standard when he does get information (because he seems to get it from the same person).

Lyons might be serious, but thats also a stretch. Remember, he was writing as Fake Steve Jobs...

The current one? The one with the controls in the headphones? That was most certainly at an event. I watched the stream.

Yes, they did show off updated colors recently, but i'm not talking about that.

Nope. The 3G iPod shuffle was released without any fanfare on the 11th of March.

The 1G was shown off at MWSF 2005, the 2G at the September 2006 iPod Special Event but the 3G did NOT get an event.

After patiently waiting more than a year for a quad-core iMac with a LED backlit screen I can say I'm ready for it... and so is my wallet!

The Education store shows 2 weeks. The regular store shows 24 hours.

roger that.... I was in the Education Store... different ship dates maybe... but that store too showed the same 1-3 day shipping at 12:30 EST and all "reset" to two weeks at 12:40. Hmmmm!!!

Conference call points to imminent announcement?

For what it's worth, it seems to me that that the conference call related to the Q4 2009 financial results points to something being released in the immediate future (whether or not it's Tuesday I don't know). There were two comments regarding air freight.

First:
Q: iPhone supply issues due simply to supply and demand or also component constraints? More air freight costs?
A: Demand outstripped supply, so that was the primary driver. That's a nice problem to have. But because of that, it did create some component shortages. Silicon is usually hardest to come by, but we were able to solve the bulk of these issues. Air freight issues not necessarily due to iPhone, but due to rushing products for holiday seasonality. Can't be specific about the products driving the increased cost this year though.

Then:
Q: Projected air freight increase: what's driving that?
A: I can't be more specific than working to move units into position for the holidays.

So what would they be air freighting that's not iPhones but that they can't wait for two weeks to ship surface? Sounds like they might be introducing something in the immediate future.

Today I heard a commercial on the radio saying the iPod could tag songs from FM Radio. For a moment I thought it was the iPod Nano since it is the one that has FM radio but I rapidly rewinded my mind and I am 100% sure it said iPod Touch. It was a commercial from Radio Shack.
