I doubt many people even use them anyway.

Buy AirPods. Wirelessly charge your phone.

Useless crap.

Not everyone wants to spend the cash for AirPods. Not everyone has a wireless charger. I would say the vast majority of iPhone users don't have a usb-c charger and cable either. The lack of headphones, fine but pretty much forcing ppl to buy a charging cable is ridiculous. It would be a much easier pill to swallow if they did not include a charger on a later model with usb-c.

The 5W charger they include with most models is useless anyway since it would take forever to charge the phone. Even the 18W charger in the Pro models is barely up to the task. So frankly getting rid of them is a good move since anyone who didn't want to wait overnight for their phone to charge was buying the 30W adapter (or a third-party multi-port high-wattage adapter).

It's a wireless future for sure. You may have your opinion about it but it's inevitable. Wired earpods and chargers not being included is a no brainer. Also, Apple is trying to find additional money so they can put the tech they want in the product which ultimately is what people are buying, not chargers and certainly not earpods.

Apple would likely tout the environmental benefits of shipping iPhone 12 models without a charger or EarPods, as such a move could result in slimmer packaging, less waste, and reduced emissions from both manufacturing and transportation.
This is to be expected. The ugly part is that people will be happily applauding the move at their own expense.

I'd rather have a discount or a gift card instead of the EarPods and the charger, I have plenty of them.
It is better for the environment if they include less stuff, most of which ends up in a drawer.
Unfortunately, I think they'll keep the same price and give us less accessories without a discount or a gift card

How many people will use 5G? 3 people maybe?

How many people will use a charger.. ?!

Can't speak for outside of the US, but AT&T and T-Mobile have nationwide real 5G today. Verizon's is coming EOY. It isn't any faster than 4G, but latency gets cut down which is a benefit. These phones will also include support for the faster networks as they are built.

I don't want another accessories that I don't need (i.e. charger), but I'd welcome a discount when combined with another purchase such as AirPods.

I understand not including the EarPods, I've always left them inside the box. The charger though? That doesn't make any sense to me especially since they ship with the 18W charger now.

This is really stupid. I held out on paying extra for a fast charger thinking they would obviously offer it eventually. Lord did I shoot myself in the foot. Now Ill have to pay extra to charge my phone at all anywhere other than my computer lol.

Cheaper PCBs, NO Charger, NO Earpods, what's next AAPL ???

Regarding the iPhone 12 Release Dates, AAPL needs to know what the first-weekend sales are for ALL of its iPhone 12 models BEFORE its next Quarterly Earnings Release !

That's the Gating Factor !

Look at the XR release date relative to when AAPL had its relevant Quarterly Earnings Release !

And, most-importantly, notice what AAPL said at that Earnings Release !!

NOT Rocket Science, most do NOT do their Homework !
What are you talking about???

Honestly, I am more concerned about the 12 Pro Max being released on time.

I never use the included wired AirPods. Including a 5W charger is just as criminal as selling phones with 64GB when 128GB is pennies more to include.

Looking forward to how they're going to spin this one. Maybe this is why Phil quit.
Phil retired.

I hope it doesn't get released in November. Since iPhones are being released in the month of October I really hope all models gets released in October.

"Apple would likely tout the environmental benefits of shipping iPhone 12 models without a charger or EarPods, as such a move could result in slimmer packaging, less waste, and reduced emissions from both manufacturing and transportation"

Will this offset the non-replaceable batteries in their Airpods?

Not a good trend I want to see, especially for flagships premium phones. Samsung already started it by not including any headset with the Note 20 lineup (although the pre order promo would get you their TWS buds).

Apple, considering their prices will be even higher than Samsung in my country, is not doing anybody any favor by taking out the EarPod and charger. It will only look bad for Apple. We have $200-$400 phones shipped with fast charger and headset, but not a $1000 phone? And yes, the price of the base iPhone 12 will be probably close to $1000 in my country.

And the environment angle is weak, considering that Apple is still shipping those chargers and EarPods separately as stand alone accessories. I mean look at those 5W iPhone chargers Apple has piling up in their stores.

Not cool Apple, not cool.

I’m here for the comments from people complaining who probably own various chargers and don’t use EarPods.

I'm here for all the people who in the past who have been quick to bring up the environment and electronic waste that Apple has been negligent addressing, and now applauding this positive move.

Have a feeling it's going to be a long wait.
