If they could get graphics capabilities to that of a PS4, I’d use it as a gaming platform.

Also, support for spatial audio and surround sound using HomePod or HP minis as rear speakers would be nice.

Lastly, I love the ATV remote, and would love it even more if they included the find my feature.

A new updated Apple TV needed. Nice if Apple also recognized that not everyone needed a powerful gaming system. The trend, have more options like the iPhone For the Apple TV appreciated. Special bonus adjust the price accordingly.

I hope apple will wait.
please no stop gap release.
I am hoping for a new Apple TV 4K wit a12/a13 with hdmi 2.1’for 120hz, just for viewing content.

and a Apple TV pro/arcade with m1(x) like soc or a m2 like soc in a year that can challenge the ps5 , Xbox series x in a years time with its own controller and block buster gaming titles.

Apple really should enter the high end gaming arena.

But please not just release just an a14 based Apple TV. That is too much high end for viewing content, but not enough high end for really big games.

Yeah, I'm definitely in that camp. I want a decent remote, good video and audio output, but don't need loads of processing power or storage, especially if it's gonna drive the price up.

Really hope they are putting an audio out back in like they used to have. Not being able to separate audio and video really limits the use cases with projectors and amplifiers.
Why bother? For the tiny fraction of people who want a separate audio feed, plenty of companies sell HDMI audio extractors on Amazon and elsewhere, that can copy out the audio as Toslink or coax digital. Why add another jack that 95% of the customers will never use?

HDMI 2.1 is a neccessity.
HFR could be their next big marketing gimmick for iTunes alongside Apple Arcade. Even though there’s only like three movies out there that aren’t at 24fps, they could market the hell out of it like they did with 4K and HDR. At the same time opening up the possibility for creators to make higher frame rate content and a platform to distribute it on for those that prefer to move from 24fps.

Spatial audio in its current iteration is a big meh for me. I would rather have Apple innovate and allow true 5.1 surround sound to be transmitted from the ATV to headphones, be it Pod Pro or the Max. That would be a day one upgrade For me.

This will only be a game console if they actually include a game controller. Otherwise it's DOA for gaming.
