Sorry, off topic.. What was the overall experience like ? Expensive ? Wife and I are looking for a place to go for our 10nth wedding anniversary. We've visited much of Italy but not Sardinia.
Some of the best beaches in Europe - I’m more a fan of the typical Italian cuisine than the Sardinian but would still very much recommend a visit

Just ran as a pacer in Copenhagen Half today with 1:35 as finishing goal. The race pacer mode was once again perfect as it was showing real time how many seconds we had in “the bank”. Pretty important to not run too fast and stay just below the pace.

One of the other guys with his Garmin made brain gymnastics at every km sign to make sure we were spot on. No need with the race pacer

@xDKP I guess that's using how far you have travelled as supposed to how much of the course you actually travelled (ignoring weaving and non optimal route etc) ?

Well it's not really taking the "real route" into account, but just shows the distance, current and average pace. You put the race distance and what your goal time is, so it can show the bar at the top of how many seconds you are ahead/behind your goal (not my picture, but shows it)

I am also interested how I can manage race routes with this feature.
Ok I tried playing with this:
- there seems to be an option to delete unneeded routes, that's good
- however, it's not a simple swipe-to-delete, you have to open each, tap the top right corner menu, and then use the delete option
- it looks like there's a bug: I've deleted a route in the iPhone but it was still showing up on AW; when checking the list of routes on iPhone again, the route was still there, even repeated deleting attempts haven't had any impact (there's no error message or anything, the route seems to get deleted, but when you open the list of routes again, it's still sitting there)
- also, we still can NOT (re)name the routes, meaning lots of clueless scrolling when actually wanting to use a specific race route 🫤

Can anyone please try the route deleting to confirm whether it works for them?

Another new this recently - The updated Strava app for Apple Watch (about f****** time) is out. Have segments and other stuff included but missing maybe the biggest opportunity ever: routable maps.

I use Strava a lot on vacations for maps and getting good routes but need to export and import it into Footpath. Single solution from Strava would be pretty good

Any one tested it?
Just tried the Strava app yesterday - not gonna use that again... Outside of showing you closing up on a segment and chasing a PR on same segment, it didn't really bring anything to the table - no maps, no navigation (huge miss) and it doesn't even show my run in the Fitness app like all other does

Strava was the worst running app on watchOS, it has improved (a bit) but it's far from any other app, including independent apps ...
How is it possible for such company to do that ?
And I see many people using this "thing" ...
I can't understand why.
The iOS app is great for centralizing data, but the watch app is shameful ...

Personally, I like Strava for record keeping, but I don't use it for recording (tried that once and no thanks). I just sync the activities to Strava afterwards. People I know do the same. It would be interesting to see the actual data - number of Strava users vs. number of users that actually use it for activities recording.

Most runners/cyclist use Strava for syncing data.
No problem with that (if we take care of some social network deviance ...)
Luckily, we don't need to use the watch app for that.

Another WatchOS 26 question for y'all - especially those with non-English / non-Siri region:

I went for a run and found out that the voice notifications have changed. I've alerted been using US English voice Siri but my iPhone and Watch are set to Czech, and my Watch voice notifications have always been in Czech (not Siri) as well. But after upgrading to 26, this changed to the Siri voice. And it's a disaster - some parts are completely missing (e.g. exercise paused / resumed) and replaced with silence (music gets muted for a moment as if there was a notification). Other parts are a ridiculous mess - as if an American tried to read a phonetically written Czech text... 🤦‍♀️

Can please anyone try and respond how it works for them? Thanks!

Deleted route on iPhone. Stayed on the route screen and saw it recreated itself!

Impossible to delete a route - I'm stuck with 10 - although its a feature I'll never actually use I'd like to have cleaned it up. At least on the Watch they're in a folder that is off the bottom of the screen compared to Custom or Pacer that I might very occasionally use.

I think that the one I tried to delete two days ago is now gone - looks like there's just a lag - at least I can’t find it among the 100 "race routes" (which seems to be the maximum). I mean, it's a super useful feature for actual races when you try to beat your previous attempt, but the clutter is killing the usefulness... 🫤

Have been running without sound for a couple of years now - but will try again

Did update yesterday to watchOS 26 as I was on business travel.
Just opened the Workout App and I have these "Time for running, walking" things at the top of the workout list. Any idea how I can remove them? In my settings I have "do not add new episodes" (or whatever it is called in English).

I want to have Running and Strength training at the top of the list and do not want to scroll down.

Any idea?

You mean you're looking at the list of workout types on the AW screen (where we pick which type of sport to start) but there's something else yet before the activity icons? I don't think I see anything like that on mine... would you perhaps add a screenshot to show what you mean?

Yes, but problem seems to solve itself. Did two workouts today and these "Time for run / walk" activities are being pushed down the stack.

Nope, immediately creates the route again. Deletion not possible.
I have 60 routes on my Apple Watch.
Thanks for trying.

We used to call these "ghost race routes" in the discussion here I think... like, one's chasing / racing with their own ghost from a previous attempt.

I think we can now rename them to "zombie routes", no matter how we try to get rid of them, they keep coming back... 🧟‍♂️ 😂

Why didn’t the garmin user use the pace pro option for the route?

Have you tried creating a structured workout?
Yes - and it got synced to the watch immediately (did something like... warm up, 10 x [speedwork + recovery], cool down), much easier than fiddling with the watch. 👍

Great. So Race routes are clearly buggy. Would also be great to filter workouts and routes, this linear and unsorted list is a real mess on my iPhone.

The UI might be so non-user friendly that he didn’t know how to 😁
Or he might have been anxious that using this feature would cause a reboot of his watch during the race. Yes, lots of reported issues on that.

I discover Garmin ecosystem with a Garmin edge (an my wife's Forerunner 165) ...
There are tons of features but the UX is horrible ...
And there are also tons of bugs and glitches, in my last ride, my edge has stopped navigation instructions for 30mn after they came back again... why ?
Climb pro is working when it wants ...
From a software perspective, Garmin is prehistoric compared to companies like Apple.
I use the Edge because it's safer than looking at my Ultra when riding, but I couldn't imagine it' so bloated.
