I think I’m going to dive in. I’m coming from a SSSB S4 and planned on getting a new stainless S7 of some sort. After watching the keynote, I’m just going to go with an Aluminum S7 and see what the S8 brings in terms of design and new features.

Now I just have to decide if I sell my S4 or is it worth keeping around.

Why? You’re going from the premium product to the base that doesn’t have that many if any new features from the S6 that you could get used in a premium guise for the same price?
What is enticing you to want to preorder? The 20% screen area? How often are you using this as your main screen?

I currently have an aluminium S4 having come from a launch S0. I was very keen to upgrade to the S7 with the rumoured new design, but now I'll probably hold off for another year as my S4 still does everything I want it to and the battery life isn't yet as awful as my S0 was after 3 years.

I will still go check it out once it's available in store but I'm no longer set on getting one.

No. I really wanted to upgrade because my battery’s horrible but it’s not compelling. I was hoping for better health features/ new sensors like blood sugar or a more reliable blood oxygen. Or at least a new chip with battery improvements like the 13.

I’ve decided to pay $99 for a new battery on my S4 SS with the current options.
After you replace your battery will you share your experience. I’m assuming you’ll have  replace it. I’m interested to know if you get your same watch back or if they replace it. Thanks.

I also did 0-4 and am on the fence about 4-8.

But I went for a stainless 4 so I don’t really fancy shelling out for a 7 when there’s still a lot of life in my 4 despite the battery degradation (I don’t want to replace battery and lose water resistance).

I’m tempted by a Hermés this time. So I think I’ll wait until series 8. No new iPhone for me this either.
Same here, I have a S4 stainless with 95% battery health and functions perfectly for my usage, especially on runs. I will wait another year or two.

Screen size mainly and the itch to have a new watch. I will say I have no problem returning the S7 and waiting a year if the screen size alone isn't enough to make it feel like an upgrade. I do have some battery degradation, but nothing serious. Otherwise my S4 could easily last another year to see if the upgrades are a little more worth while.

My 44 S4 AI is my 1st AW, like the larger display so I'll test drive a 7 using the 14day window & decide then.

My SS AW4 is still working great and I prefer, at the moment, to wear mechanical watches than AW. I now use AW only during sports. So no, I will not update.

I'm a day one series 0 owner, updated to stainless series 4 also day one, I think I might go day one for stainless series 7. On Reddit someone sumarized pretty well the updates you get from series 4 which seems compelling enough to me.

This!

My S4 will move on to my brothers wrist when the S7 is ready... If they could just annonce a date though

I'm going to wait until next year. A slightly bigger screen isn't enough for me

holding strong

my track was S0,S1,S4.

I'll probably get another with re-design or the year after re-design even possibly.

I went from original S0 aluminum -> S4 SS. I was planning on holding out for another couple of years, but then dropped my S4 on my kitchen floor and the screen shattered. The 7 looks cool, but I decided to go with the aluminum SE instead. I'll upgrade to the S10 when it comes out.

Today I get a new "cheap" stainless steel AW6 in gold for 550 EUR. I can't resist. Gold is not my favorite color, but the price...

I’m happy with my SS 4. Maybe next year with the 8 if there are significant upgrades.

Last year, everyone mentioned S7 will have a big change but look at how it is now. So what makes everyone think S8 will have a big update?
Anyway, I have a s4 currently and I absolutely can't wait to upgrade mine to S7

Pretty much only use the S4 for apple pay and fitness+.
None of the updates will change anything for me, so i'll wait.

I wanted to but ill pass and probably get the next one. My mic is not working anymore so i wanna upgrade but just not on the AW 7

Yes.

I'm tempted to wait until S8 for the better upgrades but I promised myself an upgrade to the latest Stainless Steel model a lot earlier in the year and who am I to deny me what I promised myself?

Plus I've been wanting to get a leather strap for over 18 months but put it off so long I may as well get it with a new watch.

Nope. My SSSB series 4 still works great. I’ll think about it more next year, especially if more new sensors are added.

The battery on my S4 is at 85% and barely lasts the whole day, so it looks like I'll be upgrading to the S7.
