LOVE this new version!

Yeah, I'm really hooked now!

As a web designer, I use both FF and Safari... NOW, I'm using Safari for my work more than ever!

I MUST say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Inspect Element" feature! It is incredible!
(right or ctrl click any part of a web page)

Cheers!
Jim

Unfortunately its still crashing. I don't expect any more with a new OS, but its getting annoying.

10.5.1 should be soon, and I'll have my stability fix :)

I've been using Opera for years, first on Windows and then Panther three years ago. I currently use it on Leopard as I've found it to be a better browser due to it's customisation capabilities.

I haven't really used Safari on Leopard in earnest, but with all the reports on here, I might just give it a try and see how I get on.

I like Safari, but I don't like how it handles tabbed browsing. In Firefox, you can set it that every new window goes to a tab no matter what the link on a site does. For instance, on Digg.com, you click on a link in a story and in Safari it will open a whole new window unless you're holding down the command key. In Firefox it opens in a new tab automatically...no matter what.

Also, I just cannot live without the Google-bar add-on in Firefox. Yes, Safari has a google search thingy, but it's no way NEAR as functional as the Google Toolbar.

I like Safari and how fast it is, but I just can't live without some of the features of Firefox.

Through Safari 2 I would use it alongside Firefox because Safari couldn't handle some websites. Since Safari 3 came out though, I haven't bothered with Firefox. Safari is better in everything I need in a browser now.

Session Manager?

Would like to use Safari, but will it remember what I had open in terms of tabs?! :confused:

Love it.

The draggable text area is a huge productivity boon for me as I spend alot of time doing text entry using them, and more often than not they are tiny.

Web Clip is great too.

I like to have my bookmarks down the left hand side of the screen (I do have widescreen MBP after all) and FF does this perfectly. Can Safari manage this yet?

I've switched back to Safari for Leopard. If only I had a way to block ads... there's a clever hack I used in previous Mac OS X releases to block ads on all browsers but I don't know if it's supported in Leopard.:eek:

post how and we can test.

Sure thing... all I did was modify the /etc/hosts file.

I added entries to it like this:
Code:
[URL="http://www.someadsite.com"]www.someadsite.com[/URL]   127.0.0.1
[URL="http://www.someotheradsite.com"]www.someotheradsite.com[/URL]   127.0.0.1

After restarting lookupd using killall from the Terminal by sending it a hangup signal, the changes took effect in all browsers.

Or you could use the GoodVibrations.css file, it does wonders in blocking ads (google around for it)

I've always used Safari. Firefox is nice (for the PC), but Safari is WAY faster.

I'm back to Safari from Firefox. The only feature that kept me using FF was the in-line text searching. IMO, I think Safari 3 does this better than FF now.

Safari 3 all the way! :)

I have been using FF almost exclusively, but you guys have me thinking maybe I should revisit Safari for a while...

I've been using Safari since about may. the only thing I dont like is how it doesn't auto fill my password and usernames like camino did. But I still use it.:apple:

I don't knof if SafariStand works for Safari 3 Leopard (it works for 3 beta). It turns this off, making all new window go to a tab.

Get Inquisitor 3, another shareware program. It's even better than the google bar, basically turning it into a "Spotlight" program for the web, to which you can add as many different search engines as you want.

i've mostly been a Camino user since Panther. never liked Safari 2 even though i tried it numerous times.

i'm currently using Safari as my main browser though since i installed Leopard and its much, much, much better than it used to be. don't know if i'll stick with it, there are some things that i miss from Camino. like built in ad blocking and the like.
