Is there any way to set three-finger scroll to trigger page top/bottom (as in FF)? It's one of the few niggly little things that has me wavering between the two...

Could someone post workarounds to the following:

1: Turn off Top Sites
2: Turn off Coverflow in bookmarks
3. Restore blue loading bar
4. Detach bookmarks button and address bar from one another
5. Get rid of the little refresh thing in the address bar and allow me to have the refresh button with the rest of the buttons.

I tried the terminal commands that do the above for the Safari 4 beta, but they don't appear to work on the final release.

TYIA.

WTF?!

After I installed Safari 4 and restarted (as Software Update suggested that I do), I get "No AirPort card installed."

I'm plugged into an ethernet cable right now! Is this just me?

I'm running the unibody MacBook.

I've tried Safari 4 (99% of the time I use Firefox tho) and here are my observations:

Pros:
- *still* loads FAST
- webpages seem to load faster than in FF (even after upgrading it to 3.5 beta)
- good to *still* have that extra 0.6 inch of vertical space (compared to FF)

Cons:
- why can't we have a refresh BUTTON on the left with other buttons??
- where did the blue loading bar go?? (the Loading.. thing on the right looks kind of ugly and "unprofessional"
- what's up with the "Top Sites" thing?? whenever I click cmd+T to open a new tab, I keep getting the Top Sites... how to disable it??
- Safari skin/outlook *still* looks dull and more or less colorless (compared to FF), can anything be done about this??? I still believe FF looks more user friendly...

TYIA.

This is all I want.

1. Read through the thread, it's in here twice. ;)
2. Double click the three lines at the base of coverflow.
3. There isn't one yet.
4. Huh?
5. There isn't one yet.

I imagine that there will be third party add-ons allowing these things eventually; otherwise you should write Apple via the "report bugs" bit in the Safari menu and let them know that you want options. The keyword: OPTIONS.

Are you kidding? OSX is insanely customizable. What kind of options do you want?
Take a look at how virtually EVERYTHING can be customized in Windows (any version) and then try to say that with a straight face. Apple likes to tell you how you should do things, not learn the way you work best.

*shrugs* I have OSX set up exactly how I want it. Windows has never been anything but a pain in the a** for me, but to each their own.

I actually downloaded the beta for the specific reason of the tabs on top and when you open a tab it wouldn't resize the window!

If you want to move them to the bottom fine, but figure out a way to have the window stay the same size like when they were on top...

I loved them up there, and the fact everything stayed the same size was the WHOLE reason I downloaded the Beta.

obviously, you have NOT looked into terminal.
or Resource files of actualyl ANY app.
you can change the appearance of any specific app you want just by editing resource files.
preference files.
try screw around lowlevel in windows. it will screw you in the S.

Here's the only issue/difference I've come across with the new version compared to the Beta..

In the Beta, even if you didn't have any tabs open, it had a little '+' symbol in the upper right which you could click to create a new tab.. Now, you only get the + symbol in the tab bar after you've got multiple tabs open (or have the tab bar on by default). I have my tab bar set to come on after I open a 2nd tab, but would still like the '+' option.

4. Detach bookmarks button and address bar from one another

Okay, I agree with the other stuff you want, but c'mon, that's just splitting hairs. There's absolutely no difference from having a 20 pixel space in between and having a joined "+" button and address bar.
