When you do this you have to start over from page one in the Store app.

I just noticed that you can export a link from the Store app, with the blue arrow symbol, just beneath the price:

Export the link to any text app, e.g. Notes, and you’ll get something like this:

View attachment 580621

Now quit the Store app with a swipe-up and tap the link in the note. It will re-open the Store app and take you directly to the configuration page with the previously set configuration restored (except Apple Care, in case you had selected it).

I didn’t test it under “live” conditions though.
That's an interesting plan. Of course the store is going to go down and when it comes back up the urls will probably all be different, but it might work.

I have a feeling that the product part of the url is going to change when the site goes live. If you look at the url for an iPhone 6 plus, as opposed to the 6S plus, it looks like the second one is a temporary placeholder:
http://store.apple.com/xc/product/IPHONE6P
http://store.apple.com/xc/product/MKUQ2LL/A

Of course this is all wild speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if the end of it changes to IPHONE6SP

Interesting, the links redirect to the online store if you click them.

That's not true... I selected all the options for the 6+ on the app and it gave me a link similar to the one you posted as the 6s Plus. It probably gives you the generic link unless you start adding options, like you did with the 6s.

Yes, that seems to be correct.

When I config the old 6 plus I also get a link like “MGAH2ZD/A” (not “IPHONE6P”).

I meant to say switch between different sizes or colors for it to refresh
Makes sense, sounds more efficient than closing it and reopening the app. Do you remember when about the app went online last year? The website didn't get online until just after 2AM Pacific.

The next question is how are we pre ordering from Apple, their website or iPhone App or iPad Store App

The best way to Pre Order, and i am going through years of experience. Is to use "only" the Apple App, sometimes it gets busy and the continue button get greyed out. But just be calm and wait till it becomes blue. ONLY use the Apple App, either on iPhone or iPad. The first year i used the Apple app, i got it on launch. The next 2 i did though carrier and got it after launch. If you are adding lines or whatever you have to use your carrier. But if you are just upgrading, use Apple. They fulfill there orders first, then worry about the carriers next.

Let me state, as i said REFRESH the APP. I meant to switch between phone choices or what plan you're doing it under. As soon as you hit a different color or size choice it refresh's and checks to see if they are available...You don't want to close and open the app. If you close it and it becomes bogged down you might not get back in. Everybody and there moms will be on the web. The app people will come out winners! Good luck to you all, i hope we all get them on launch...

How is everybody pre ordering this year? I have learned my lesson about doing it through the carriers since I pre ordered mine last year 9 minutes before 12:01am and I still got mine 10 days after launch. Will only Pre order with Apple from now on.

Which carrier did you use?

ATT went online last year at 11:52pm, 9 minutes before. Apple was exactly on time. i would be in the app 10 min early and refreshing till you get that magical blue button......The website last year crashed for hours, the app also crashed but it didnt crash till 10-15 min after opening. EVEN if the app crash's, its ok. wait it out till it becomes available. if you get nervous and go online you could lose your spot. Even if the app crash's and it takes lets say hours to get online. YOur best bet is to still stick it out. i bet that even if you wait 2 hours (cause of the crash) and then order you still get it on launch. Remember if it crash's for you more then likely it crash's for everybody else to. The person who refreshes the most till you get that blue button will be a winner.

Is it possible to reserve for in store pick up through the Apple Store App?

I think so, but i am not sure on that. You mean you want yours right at 8am when they open...lol..If they do thats what i am doing...lol..

Wouldn't it be easier and less hectic just to pre order it for shipment and have UPS hold it at the hub for you to pick up when they open around 8?

And how are you supposed to do that when the app is offline?
That's what I'm wondering as well. Once the site comes up at midnight pacific time there is no wait time and refreshing necessary, right? Or does the web site come up before midnight and then you have to refresh?

Nope, I tried to do that and something about how they sort them. But u can have them ship to a store closestest to you

I don't know for sure if it just comes up, I'm to busy opening it and closing it like a maniac. :D

Just the opposite for those of us who were on AT&T site as it went live ~7 minutes before schedule, allowing thousands of us order early and receive the phone as planned.
