No I haven’t switched. Just got the S9 as a secondary phone but my sim is still in my iPhone X where it will stay until the x plus comes out.

Really tempted to switch as I’ve still not been able to use my cellular Apple Watch on o2!

6 weeks to go for the announcement of the iPhone X plus. Can’t wait.

I would definitely switch to ee if I was on o2 it’s night and day.

Here in the Uk I have a 300 gb per month plan on my iPhone, no throttling. It really feels like the future.

Is there anything you need a really fast download speed for? I can understand having a lot of data, but it's the download speed that I can't figure out why most need something so fast.

I’m good with 120 Mbps.

Frankly, reading the posts from some of you, many of you spend way too much time knee deep in the details. I was taking a step back, looking at the long arc. Let's be charitable again, since as I said, I don't know anything about Samsung's phones, (nor do I really want to, because their business practices speak for themselves), but, let's just say they'll have an edge in cellular networking speeds for a few years. It's not a fait accompli. They're right to run ads about their strengths. Apple runs ads about its strengths. What I said, and am still saying, is that anyone would be stupid to be so shortsighted as to switch platforms over this sort of difference.

I don't know if I trust the methodology of that data collection (did they adjust for a ton of important factors influencing this?) but if true props to Samsung. Thats impressively better.

This is a genius ad, since most Samsung/Android nerds believe anything. They are gullible that way. You can tell since they parrot the same bullet points over and over. lol.

Ads like these are probably effective because they appeal to the segment of the population that hates Apple for whatever reason and think it's cool to hate Apple.

Ads like these also make it certain that if I ever switch to an Android device it will NOT be a Samsung.

Of all the marketing drivel to come out of the Samsung camp, this one reaches a new level of insecurity.

I went ahead and fixed it for them...

Customer: So the iPhone X doesn't have the fastest download speeds.

Genius: It is faster than the iPhone 8.

Customer: But the download speeds aren't faster than the Galaxy S9. I thought it was the "smartphone of the future."

Genius (or anyone else with common sense): Actually, any LTE performance increase would likely be non-existent due to tower and network limitations, or barely noticeable at best in real-world use cases. You might instead want to focus on non-trivial factors, in which the iPhone shines. And of course let's not discount the fact that this entire conversation is taking place here in a physical store dedicated to assisting Apple users and servicing Apple devices (usually same-day)... good luck doing that with a Galaxy S9.

It reminds of me of this....never gets old. Still applicable and probably will be for a long time.

I disagree.
Nothing tops their ad comparing the 2014 iPhone 6 to the 2018 s9.

It makes sense to compare to the 6 though. If they'd compared, say, single core performance of the US version to the 3 years older 6s instead then...

Actually this is pretty genius from Samsung. The average consumer doesn't understand the numbers tied to every electronic part of a computer, but to say your phone has the "fastest download speeds" is enough for people instead of showing them graphs, MHz charts, and data tables in GBs.

Its not any different from saying "Ultra HD" TV or "retina" display. But is it legal to have someone wear a competitor logo in your ad? Isn't it like trademark and you need license to use it?

I hope you don't forget Apple launched the Mac vs PC campaign. Jobs literally had 2 computers on stage, Mac and PC, to show the speed difference between the 2. I believe it was a Compaq.

You mean back when Apple was desperately trying to sell Macs and they knew Windows was the big dog? Thanks for making my point for me.

People. Is there an ad making fun of, say, HTC?

Oh, right, you've successfully posted the bullet point: Android specs are better than iPhone. lol. Except that it doesn't run iOS and isn't part of the tight knit Apple eco system. Well done.

I typically see between 0 and 50, under ideal circumstances maybe 140 Mbit/s.
The ad is comparing a 1000 Mbit/s max iPhone X to a 1200 Mbit/s max Galaxy S9, while real life results will rarely exceed 10% of that.

That's basically the biggest non-issue you could pick for an advertisement.

lol, Samsung dosent have a Genius Bar....because their phones are already in the mail for replacement with something like a 27.4% failure rate
After 2 months mine was in the mail, traded into Decluttr to pay off the Samsung Financing program, because it was an overall failure as a useable device. So happy with my iPhone X now. Only wish I hadnt switched to S9 in the first place. Lost the sweet trade in discount from Verizon applied to my iPhone 7.

And in the real world you’re lucky to get 30Mbps so it doesn’t actually matter in any way, shape or form.
^This. For the love of god this. Unfortunately the majority of the public wont understand this.

Keeping that Sheeple-Are-Elitists stereotype alive in well in mid-way through 2018 I see. Man, if Mercedes or BMW ever had priority parking spots demands, Apple would have priority 5G usage demands. ("Let 'em eat Apple pie.")
No, that would be Apple

There are also fingerprint reader (still preferred by many), a headphone jack (can still pair with bt) and a microSD so you don't have to buy a higher storage option every time. Oh and no notch.
they both do.

Still got my upgrade for the iPhone X plus ready with my carrier. Wasn’t going to loose that. I got the S9 plus unlocked so it won’t effect my upgrade.
