Most features (especially those based on speeds and feeds) are a cat and mouse game. Apple puts out the new iPhone and it's faster than anything on the market. 6 months later, the highest end Samsung phone is slightly faster than the iPhone. And the iPhone won't get updated for another 6 months. At which point, the new iPhone will be fastest again.

To switch platforms in pursuit of which device happens to have the slight speed edge today, is totally stupid. Once you're invested in a platform, the cost of switching is huge. The platform someone is on would have to be seriously pissing them off before they should reasonably consider switching. And, some people do switch to Samsung. Some people are irked by some of Apple's design decisions. But, I doubt it's because for 6 months the iPhone is slightly behind in one speed metric.

Name a single iphone that had faster LTE speeds than samsung

To us nerds it seems "dumb", but you have to remember the general public are not very bright - they eat a lot of fast food, for example, particularly McDonald's double quarter-pounders, talk loudly and make interesting hand gestures, suck up to authoritative figures, are duped into religions and use religion to dupe, they twitter non-stop putting their info all out there, publicly, they are generally loud, rude, and annoying going so far as to sexualize their children - I could go on...... let's not assume a one word message "faster" wouldn't work magic on them. "Faster what? NEVER-MIND TAKE MY WALLET, GIMME!"

Did Samsung ever make commercials bragging how their phones are 100% more likely to explode and catch on fire? or that their phones are unique in that they are banned from all flights in the USA?

I can't. But I don't know anything about Samsung phones. I was trying to be charitable to Samsung. But, I guess my point was missed? The point is, neither phone is still on 2G networks. They both get faster every year. And every year's model from either company is faster than the previous year's model from either company. (Approximately.) Ergo, it's dumb to switch platforms over this endless cat/mouse chase.

Apple has switched to intel modems and will never catch up to Qualcomm.

Qualcomm is leading the 5g standard as we speak and is putting all the r&d for it.

You think the next iphone without a Qualcomm modem can stand a chance?

Is this true that all their phones are banned from US flights or was it just the note 7?

So your point is irrelevant. LoL

I think they were talking about processing speed not LTE speed but the A series chip is always faster than the latest snapdragon chip. Even the previous gen A series chip is usually faster than the latest snapdragon chip.

This thread is about LTE speed

He was also talking about LTE speeds he confirmed it with his answer: I don't know anything about Samsung phones

I love these Samsung ads, they catch every one of Apple's gimmicks. I know, I know, diehard fans detest Samsung, but you gotta love the disrespect they show Apple. And I think it is well deserved, since most the media are paid off by Apple.

At the end of the day, you can hate Samsung all you want, but I am convinced that they are one of the key reasons Apple is not totally lost strategically.

Uh yeah. It’s called they Xmm 7560 and it matches the x20 that was released this year.

“Since it is also the first to provide support for Nokia’s LTE Standard Pro, the XMM 7560 LTE modem will be able to deliver speeds going above the 1Gb/s download mark and 225Mb/s uploading speeds. The new chip will also support up to 5x carrier aggregation, plus 4 x 4 MIMO and 256QAM, resulting in becoming one of the most advanced connectivity chips in the market. As mentioned above, the XMM 7560 will also support CDMA and GSM networks, so iPhones being sold through all four major U.S. carries will feature Intel’s in-house silicon.

The xmm 7660 and the xmm 8050 will be released next year cat19 and 5g.

Irrelevant.
Where you get 70mbps on an 6S an iphone x would probably get around 85mbps or more.
Connection speeds are not uniform, I don't understand why is it so hard to understand something so simple.

So it has nothing to do with the image I showed which proves that the difference can be even bigger than that average posted by PCMag which is basically a best case scenario for the iphone.

so you're saying not only Max speeds are affected?

Despite whatever troubles Samsung are having with their mobile division, as a company they have their finger in so many pies that it doesn’t really matter if they are loosing phone sales. They can run the mobile division as a hobby if they really wanted to.

The head of Samsung’s phone division might beg to differ. If he can’t produce results at the end of the day, his head will roll.

Never bet against Apple.
