I bet if Apple bring one out you will buy it.
If Apple makes one, people will buy it. That's not even the question right now. The questions in my mind are whether or not this thing will actually be good, how many Android users will want one, how many iOS users will switch to Android to get one, and whether developers find it worthwhile or not.

For those saying its too thick, the device shown was a early prototype, which the demonstrator said was heavily disguised. Its likely the finished article will be much sleeker. Imaging an iphone in your pocket, that unfolds to an iPad. What a great piece of hardware (just need iOS to catch up).
I think people are a bit overly optimistic about this device's screen size when it's unfolded. I guess you could count it as tablet sized, but it would be a VERY small tablet.

The Future is here.
At least some companies innovate while others just increase the screens, and the price. ;)
The price tag on this phone is going to be significantly higher than any iPhone.

Sure, but this one is way... way more innovative than any iPhone ever made. It will certainly do much more than any iPhone in the next 5 years ... or 10.

Apple will take 3 years or more to catch up to this......once its perfected by Samsung...Apple will be all in with theirs coming out.... acting like its a device no one has ever seen before...

In a new "The Future Unfolds" ad for its upcoming February 20 keynote event, Samsung today teased hints of its upcoming "Galaxy Fold" foldable smartphone.

There have been some rumors suggesting Apple is exploring foldable display content, but right now, there's no concrete evidence that Apple is working on a smartphone with a foldable display.

How long will it take for "Flex-gate" to hit this display - 6-months or a year?

Another gimmick like the curved TV screens.

Apple, don't go there. Get your laptops' flexion correct first; or, just all of the laptop's features proper.

More than foldable displays, I'd like to see two seamless but separate microLED displays similar to the ones demoed at CES…

Waiting for the microLED screens to show up in TVs and phones - taking too long. Is OLED killing it?

…but that have a hinge connecting them on the other side. This way, you can have both displays covered in durable glass and perfectly straight:

That was my thought. If you can carry something the size of an iPhone around most of the time, and then unfold it to be the size of an iPad, it is just one less thing you need to carry when traveling. This obviously isn't there yet to get to iPad size, but give it 5 or 10 years and you might unfold it out to a much larger size.

Foldable No. Stretchable Yes.
Pull corner to desired screen size (iPad)it stays.
Tap retract it returns to phone size. :D
