In what ways?

Did you watch the key note? The pictures and video recording of the gs6 vs 6 plus made the iPhone look like a 10 year old camera.

The new cpu is also using 14nm and will have 35% better power efficiency over 20nm and is by far the most powerful chip out at the moment almost 5.5k geekbench

Is well above the 6 plus 3k score

At the end, the ressemble is only the bottom of the phone. No matter what they release, people would've found anything to say Samsung is copying Apple.

----------

Unless you have 0 tech, that's almost impossible.
But the truth is ...they are. That's is what koreans are good at. Evolving...copying ideas and improving upon them. They are good at precision, hardware etc.

The problem is that people do not buy dead bricks ...they buy experience (software, ecosystem).

And thats what apple is good at too, that plus marketing .

And samsung has that, called android .

No SD slot and no removable battery? I've been hearing about how great these are for eight years. That's why iPhones suck. Right?

This is so good. LOL.

At least the huge protruding camera is in the center so it wobbles symmetrically :) .

(but I do agree with some, this board is just like an android board at any release of any iPhone :) )

So just because they decided to name their payment service after their own company, they copied Apple?
I think they should have sticked with the name of the original company they bough for this purpose. Especially when they did not invent this they just integrated it into the product.

Although the micros card slot has its advantages, one of the downsides was that for my HTC the pics were located in different folders (one on the phone and one on the card). Another downside was that a user couldn't always move any app to the sd card.

For the battery, although my androids have replaceable batteries, I never kept an extra battery to carry during daily use. I like fast charging.

This new phone is very iPhone-ish; I like the designs of both. Wireless charging and fast charging are cool. If the Samsung touchwiz overlay gets improvement, it may be a neat performer.

Mobile payments...you get the idea.

...

Not to rain on the joke parade, but you guys do realize that Android phones with NFC had a mobile pay option way before Apple introduced it, right? Same for OIS, FPS, large screens and so on.

I am very happy with my iPhone 6+, but the new Samsungs look like great phones and I am waiting to see how the camera compares to mine. If it's better, I'll probably grab one. Particularly if they bring out a pure Google experience edition, which is very likely.

Brand wars are just silly.

And samsung has that, called android .

They don't. Android is like Windows. It has its fans (gamers)....and then there's nobody else.
Android suffers from a lot of issues...even crippled iOS provides a better user experience than android with far more features.
Do not forget about profitability for developers who are part of this ecosystem (iOS vs Android), tools friendliness etc.

Curved one ???

curved edge is stupid. Good advertisement, but stupid. The rest is just a rip off.

oh yeah
Samsung rips even vacuum cleaners. I do not trust them. I'm not that rich to afford rubbish.

It's not gimmick...it's testing features...look at their "future tech" video. In its current form it might not be that useful but later on..who know ?

Samsung makes one of the best & most precise chips and another electronic components. They are good at precision & hw but not the final product.

Eh ? Who buys iphones because of materials, hardware specs ?
You do that because you want to be in Apple's ecosystem. Because you want
iOS.

The only thing a lot of users see when they look at an Apple phone is "oooh, shiny" they have no idea what the differences are between iOS and Android. Most couldn't even tell you what version of iOS they are running.

If you think the benefits of operating systems are a primary motivator you are considerably out of touch. Mac OS has been better than Windows since day one but the majority never bought anything Mac-related until Ive started making things look pretty. As evidenced by the amount of users on this forum now whose first device was an iPhone.

Mainstream customers want bling, because mainstream users are superficial, and upgraders want specs. That's why the 6S is coming.

Samsung needed to hit it out of the park to slow iPhone momentum. Did they do that? We'll see.

There is really nothing to see here. Move along.

Apple is using fat cores that rock out insane instructions per clock but hit a mhz wall and power efficiency wall over arms big little approach.

You see apple couldn't even raise the mhz on the new air and needed to add another cpu because that was more power effective

There is no way apple could use there fat cores in an 8 way setup.maybe at 6nm but not today.

the end result is still the same.the big little approach is better overall for performance when needed and power efficiency

You do realise the A8X is never going in a phone and is a tablet soc right?

Yeah, I do realize that the A8X is for tablets, but it only has 1 billion more transistors and is clocked 100 MHz higher.

If you're referring to the transistor to core ratio ("fat cores"), I'd like to see some facts and sources comparing this ratio. The A8/A8X ratio is about 500 million/1 core. Tell me the ratio for the Samsung processor.

I don't see why Apple can't put 8 cores in their processors and still have fantastic battery life because all they would have to do is clock down the processor and shut down all but one core when the phone/tablet is sleeping or at the home screen or doing something that isn't battery intensive.

Which brings me back to hardware/software integration. With an in-house developed OS and processor, they can only guarantee that the OS will work seamlessly with the processor, which usually means better battery life and better performance and maybe even better user experience. See, if you go to Geekbench, the performance scales fairly well with the addition of more cores with Apple devices. However, with Samsung devices, multicore scaling does not work as well. Let's compare the S6 (according to your Geekbench reference) and iPhone 6. The S6 has a single/multicore score of 1520/5478. It has 8 cores. The iPhone 6 has a score of 1612/2885. Now, if it had a third core, using the A8X as a guideline, it would have a score of about 4300 at the A8's 1.4 GHz, which would mean the performance increases from 80 to 90% with each additional core. I can make this inference because the Apple processors are basically identical except that the A8X has an additional core and is only clocked 100 MHz higher. On the other hand, the S6 has a performance increase of about 45% per core.
Conclusion: in-house software developed for in-house hardware will always win. That's what makes an outstanding product, and that's how it works in the aerospace software/hardware industry.

2007-2011: Samsung is screwed, so they copy Apple.

2011-2014: Samsung is doing well, so they try their own ideas, which were goofy and laughably stupid.

2015-???: Samsung is screwed again, so they copy Apple.

Haha that basically sums it up quite well.

They don't. Android is like Windows. It has its fans (gamers)....and then there's nobody else.
Do you honestly believe that? Ever use android for any period of time?

Its very simular for the vast mayority of people .

Android suffers from a lot of issues...even crippled iOS provides a better user experience than android with far more features.
Total BS, coming from an iphone 5 and now a oneplus

Do not forget about profitability for developers who are part of this ecosystem (iOS vs Android), tools friendliness etc.
So? What do I care about that as a consumer. Android has just about everything ios has and its capable of a lot more .

Not always but mostly :).
You need users to have an access to most popular apps...that means attracting developers to create these apps your for your platform. But why as a developer would you invest your time & money to support some obscure platform without user base ?

Chicken egg problem. Software is much more expensive than hardware...and a final product is a super expensive thing. Yet i think it's totally worth it. I think samsung does not have the manpower to create a successful ecosystem with its Tizen. But we shall see

Also in-house sw/hw does not always work (in enterprise world take a look at Oracle/CIsco)

Yes i did and did not like the experience.
But based on what you said your use case is different from mine. OnePlus with stock was "good enough" for you. I can't complain. But that does not mean other people feel the same
