Wow, fanboy galore today. Don't get me wrong I have the iPhone 6 plus. It's full of bugs in IOS 8 though. All companies can take a bashing.. I give samsung props for introducing a 16 megapixel camera and competing with Apple.

The OS inside Samsung phones is thanks to Google, though.

i am sure there will be a Samsung Galaxy S6 XYZ Ultimate Aqua Edition in a few months thats water resistant with dif LTE bands and display resolution thats also more plastic and will never get any software updates as always

Let me get something straight. Samsung criticized Apple about the iPhone 6/6+ saying welcome to 2012. The S6 is made with a front and back glass design with an aluminum frame, no longer has expandable storage, moved the speaker from the back to the bottom and is no longuyger water resistant. So it's a larger iPhone 4/4S. Good job Samsung, welcome to 2010.

Pretty sure they mentioned welcome to 2012 from hardware specs.

The gs6 is the only phone using 8 cores and 14nm finfet.they are a full year ahead of every one now in hardware.

Samsung Pay? that's the best name you've got?

It's like Apple will have "Apple Pay", come on! you could be more creative than that. :D

No such a thing happened with the S5.

I don't understand this. All of the things that Samsung has mocked for years, now they just copy it? This isn't even close to something close to original. Samsung Pay? No Micro-SD? Wall hugger scheme? Complete backs asking and blatant copying of the iPhone 6

Really

Yes microsd has gone, 32gb base model, hows apples 16gb upgrade ios anyone?

Class leading cameras
Newest processor technology Developed by Samsung
DDR4 Ram faster and larger bandwidth - Developed by Samsung
New faster Flash Memory as used in SSDS - Developed by Samsung

Those are game changers for the tech side of things and for which only Samsung can pull off seeing as they are one of the leaders in the field of chip production.

Wireless charging covering both standards, pay system works on 100 percent of terminals, curved display, 10 minutes charge for 4 hours use

Not quite seeing the apple copycat argument here are you

Samsung Pay... it hasn't copied Apple but rather Google as they kicked of the mobile payment system, just no one used it. But weather this is Google wallet re-branded as Samsung pay I don't know? But it does seem a bit pointless to make your own system, when the OS you use has had it's own system for years.
And Google are refreshing their payment system and pushing it more to compete with Apple. I'd personally rather just have a Google and Apple system as it's much less confusing.

And I didn't know they dropped the SD slot, very daft, I don't know what you mean by wall hugger? But I agree on iPhone 6 design elements in the S6, which I don't get as HTC manage to make a premium handset and not copy Apple design ideas?

Samsung pay appears to be a 3 step process.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnYtWWDor2s

1. Swipe to launch the app.
2. Authenticate with finger at bottom of screen. (Not home button)
3. Move phone near card terminal to use LoopPay magnetic transmission.

Swiping an EMV credit card is faster and more secure.
Plus, not sure how reliable bottom of screen is for fingerprint sensor.

Time will tell.
Think its about the same steps for apple pay? Never used it not really sure .

Apple also mocked larger screens and look where we are now. Demands changes and technology changes, get over it.

Is it 64-bit? and last i checked you barely use 4 cores in real world use in Android. So 8-cores is nice sounding on a spec-sheet but jury is out if you get anything from it.

So does removeable battery and micro sd not matter anymore? I thought those were major selling features of Android phones.

As if 8 cores and 14nm willl do any colossal change in typical usage, this is pure marketing gimmick, just like when Sammy tried the same 8-core thing when the S4 arrived...

In before someone says Samsung copied the rounded sides of iPhone 6

Samsung Ativ S (2012)

You mean this phone? The back and bottom don't look like an iPhone 6.

And Apple released the 5th gen iPod touch in 2012, the iPhone 6 was obviously a continuation of this design.

And let's not forget the original iPhone design which also featured curved aluminum sides.

Yep 64bit and if its big.LITTLE architecture 4 cores run at high speed when needed, and when at rest the 4 slower cores tick things along thus saving battery juice.

And in all fairness, no one needs 64bit chips in relaity on either platform, so 1 2 4 or 8 processors gives some future proof thats all

Now the lesser well informed people on here will label me a Samsung fanboy, which I find hilarious as I don't own any of their products. I just will defend Samsung when I don't think they have done wrong.
But equally I will state when they have done wrong, and in this case it's pretty obvious where they got the S6 design ideas from....

Does Samsung never learn?

So does removeable battery and micro sd not matter anymore? I thought those were major selling features of Android phones.

Nope, Android discouraged the use of SD cards since Android 4.0

Removable battery makes the phone thicker. Samsung added wireless charging and fast charging to compensate.

Ah come on... Really now?

Best part is Verge calling this the best designed smartphone ever.

Glassed Silver:mac

No the Verge called it the best Samsung design ever. There might not be any plastic but it's still unmistakenly Samsung.

Look on the bright side people, at least it'll hopefully encourage to Apple to drop the ridiculous 16gb of base flash memory on their flagship... let alone finally going above 1gb of ram too.

Competition is good. I'm a HUGE Apple fan, but this phone looks nice. Hopefully one day the iFans and FanDroids can drop the childish behavior and just admit that there is a place for both in the world, and both benefit from each other. Who gives a crap who copied who? Not me.

iPhone wouldn't exist with all of the other phones that came before it. iPhone wouldn't have improved much without the phones that came after it. If anything, Apple was slow to respond to innovations made by Samsung, but they seem to have learned their lesson.

My only complaints about Samsung is they they bundle too much crapware and feature bloat. Also, their phones used to be kind of cheap feeling. It seems like they have made strides in both of those areas. This is good for Apple fans because it means that we will get to see what Cupertino can come up with to try to leap frog this.
