Or maybe it's a combination of all of the above? I'm just guessing because i'm not a photographer, but it seems logical to me. At any rate, I guess we'll see what the results are when we see real world images from the camera.

You could have a 500 megapixel sensor, but if your sensor is not sensitive to light, then that resolution will be useless. Or you could have a 5 megapixel sensor that's ultra-super-duper sensitive to light, and get wonderful night shots.

But yes, the improved night photography is PROBABLY a combination of improved AI, an infrared sensor, and a sensor that's very sensitive to light – add photos at multiple exposures to the mix, and then combining them and using the AI to denoise them.

All those Galaxy's whistles and bells and yet STILL will get short OS updates & support which is why I brought iPhone 13 PM 256gb in October '22 because I know that it will get FIVE or more years of iOS updates.

But once the future iPhone gets the Space Zoom, I'm in!
You mean the ultra short 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of monthly security and feature updates?

I love how the camera communities laughed 20 years ago at high megapixel point-and-shoot cameras because it means nothing if the sensor is small yet the smartphone community hasn’t worked this out yet lol. 200 megapixels on a smartphone? Haha, clever pixel duplication and software editing more like.

Obviously your characteristics are non-dynamic. I

I had to go look up irons after your comment.

This is a real thing. They're all like this:

PurSteam Professional Grade 1800-Watt Steam Iron with Digital LCD Screen, 3-Way Auto-Off, Double-Layer Ceramic Soleplate, Axial Aligned Steam Holes, Self-Clean with 11 Preset Steam & Temp Settings

Ceramic! Axial Aligned! Digital!!!!

Marketing has ruined the world. Do marketers know they must go to hell?
I'm sure they know, but they sure are getting rich! (I knew one guy with an MBA in marketing that was making $250K salary). You gotta admit, there is something magical to putting a monkey on a cereal box, and then watching sales soar!

I got to admit Samsungs marketing is doing them well, You don't know how many people have come into my store to preorder the S23U and how they "Cant Beleive" how Samsung is putting a 200MP camera into a cell phone and it will blow any camera out of the water. I kid you not I had one guy say "I wonder if they are going to start shooting movies with this phone due to the amazing camera".SMH

I do love Samsung phones as I have a Fold 4 as my secondary device with my iP14PM but this revision is literally just a reskinned S22.

Amusing, most phones have yearly updates but usually focusing on the cameras. #uselessformostpeople
Yes indeed I would so love an option with no camera. Imagine how cheap they could be! Just a selfie cam for video calls and the occasional utilitarian photo or scan would be just fine!

It would also get rid of the crazy bulges that stop phones from lying flat. Unfortunately they have next to nothing else to market on year upon year, so this is the world that has been created for us, where phones are more expensive than laptops. Well I suppose that's still not quite true for Apple, where laptops are still somehow even more expensive, but generally speaking.

Remember you all. Competition is good.

Honestly, I am disappointed by the box design of the Ultra. It reminds me of those Sony phones. Why not keep the design of the regular one … looks much better in my opinion

There is no competition to iOS lol

The back sitting flat isn't an issue if you use a case.

Maybe he's the one in the loop. And loop has left you.

Ridley Scott to make Next Film on Galaxy S23

There is no competition to iOS lol
There is no competition to iMessage. In all other respects Android is superior. Mind blown that Google still hasn't fixed this problem, hasn't repurposed ALL their resources on fixing this problem.

Samsung has used their last card now, as you said there is a limit to what constitutes a good camera with ramping up a sensors megapixels. All that does is make too much memory being used to process imagery. A Canon EOS R6 uses a 24.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. How big is the sensor in the Samsung? Pretty tiny. Lens the same. Apple needs to work on just improving their existing 48 MB system instead of this ridiculous my sensor has more megapixels. Keep enlarging the various lens a bit.

Apple needs to make the 48 mpx available to jpg natively too.

Why is this being posted here? This is an apple centered website of course people here will hate anything Samsung

Why is anything other than Mac stuff posted here?
The name of this "apple centered website" is after all MacRumors.

Well, I have an iPhone X, iPad Pro 12.9 (2017), MacBook Pro 2015, 2020 M1, Apple Watch Series 3 and they all work just fine. Until I experience what you are experiencing, I will give Apple the benefit of the doubt.
Of course you have your own experience and I’m genuinely happy it’s good because that gives me hope mine can return there. I’ll just say this, you must not use Home/HomeKit. ;)

s23 ultra decrease the value very fast. i will keep using my iphone 14 pro max still.

I hope Samsung software can live up to their hardware hype.

Yes, I do, I have a Logitech surveillance cam in my room. Any movement it activates and gives me a notification.

Just decided to look and see on iOS 16.3 I can’t delete

  1. App Store
  2. Messages
  3. Phone
  4. Photos
  5. Safari
  6. Settings (if you want to count that as an app)
I’m at work so I don’t have my Samsung Tablet with me so I can’t check that.
I counted 10 apps on my a32, basically the same subset plus the Samsung calendar, calculator, etc. which I didn't realize were there as I moved them to a folder on day one.

Nope, never used one but the comments on this topic are all aimed at the flagship phones that compete with Apples flagship offerings. I stand by all my comments above, if people want to compare, they should do like for like.
A10 is also like $150, complete with relatively up-to-date security, app versions, connectivity, etc. Apple literally just doesn't sell a phone that competes in this space. I'd prefer A10 to an iphone 5s or whatever, if that was my budget.

I think the Galaxy S23 models are excellent phones but I do express concern about what happens when the security patches and Android version upgrades are applied over the next few years. I also think the Galaxy S23 is gotten a bit too big, too.
This is a bit like how a 10+ years ago Windows was truly much more prone to viruses and malware and whatnot compared with mac's, but the gap has been narrowed to the degree that it's not really a concern these days on either platform.

Same with IOS and android--the gap in usability, "lagging" on equivalent price phones, etc. Years ago this was true but every year Android manufacturers narrow the gap such that it's just not a meaningful difference for most users these days.
