As productive as possible.

Ok, I concede, but a full size doc on a 9.7 screen is ok, but two of them? Thats pretty teeny and unproductive. I hear you, and your argument is 100% fine, but the screen size, then shared by two half sized docs is not great to put it mildly. Some apps may work well if their real need for form factor was lower, so less affected. I.e. the app would work pretty well if it was smaller

What they failed to show you was behind the scenes. "if you choose the Samsung one, you can keep it since we can't sell them."

Here in Switzerland they're giving away a Galaxy Tab with every purchase of a Samsung vacuum cleaner. No joke. And the vacuum costs less than the retail price of the Galaxy. So it's actually a better deal to get the vacuum if you're in the market for a tablet.

What Samsung keeps failing to understand, is that its all about the experience. All of Apple's secrets lie in the experience you have with their products. Long gone are the times where specs matter. Nobody wants to brag about how many rams and terraherz their product has anymore like we used to do 10 years ago with our PCs.

Today its about simplicity. Apple's products are clean and void of distinct character, making it possible for the consumer to bring his own character into the product.

Whereas Samsung's (and most of the other products out there) define the consumer for what they hold in their hands with a certain "style". Imagine it as if you would wear a blank t-shirt which brings out your own character, and a t-shirt with picture that pre-defines you to only something that you like. This results in the consumer getting tired of that said product (need for change), quickly looking for something else to replace it with. Just like all of Android's different iOS's...

;)

You guys KNOW Samsung would not stoop to paying those people as actors to say what they want and then try to pass it off as genuine, so this has gotta be real.

That would be like paying people to astro-turf forums to bash the competition or paying celebrities to pretend like they use samsung products all the time or like..... Never mind.

:D

I'm getting sick of these adverts, not just Samsung but from other competitors. Why can't they just advertise their products for the features that they have and let it stand on it's own two feet instead of always having to compare it directly with the iPhone 5S or the iPad Air.

And yes, Apple perhaps did start it with the Mac vs PC ads a while back. But the beauty of those ads was that Apple was generic about it, they didn't target specific manufacturers or particular devices. Just shows how desperate the competition must be if they're always attacking specific Apple products directly.

If this ad makes anything clear, it's that Samsung really isn't happy with the sales of their tablets.

Considering they've kept on bashing Apple, but it hasn't been reflected in actual sales, my personal prediction is that the next step is something similar to the Pepsi Challenge from the 70's and 80's. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the stands would be put up in Best Buy's and outside Apple's own stores.

Lots of options to use your post as a funny putdown of Samsung, but to be fair, it will be run out stock of the current model, to clear stock for the new

I do love these threads.

Pure entertainment watching all the Apple fans get upset! Calm down people!

Lets turn it up a notch shall we - "So it was ok for Apple to do it in the Mac vs PC ads?" ;)

It's funny that people always bring this up, where does anyone say that Apple were fine doing it too? Personally I think ads like this are lazy, no matter who is doing them. It shows a lack of confidence in your own product.

This ad in particular is extremely biased as they obviously edit out anyone that doesn't agree with them. Again, lazy advertising.

Samsung. I have a Note 3 (eye condition folks don't judge). Touchwiz is the worst thing that happened to this earth. Secondly, making it feel cheap to hold and then have it rebooting at least once a day for no apparent reason is not the best idea if you are trying to compare yourself to a premium product. Yes it might be thinner adn lighter, that will be the cheap plastic you used to keep costs down. It might even be brighter but that does not automatically make the screen better!

To be fair there are/were people saying apple was fine doing it. That being said, my dislike for Samsung is real. A company who blatantly copies and whose users act worse than the worst apple fanboy.

I look at htc and lg commercials and see how nicely done they are. Its a shame that a crap company like Samsung is pretty much the face of android.

Comparing and differentiating your products from your competitor is commonplace in advertising, not only with Apple, but across a variety of industries including food products, consumer products, TV providers and automotive.

My guess is your real problem is that Apple is on the receiving end of it.

Get a professional looking camera and a professional looking host and you'll notice you can make people say all kinds of things. It's because people are easy to manipulate, and plain stupid, at least a large part of them. The camera/host-scenario just enhances this. They sit in front of the camera like dogs and all they think is "OH HE'S ASKING ME SOMETHING, I NEED TO SAY THE RIGHT THING WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING". It has been shown in so many experiments and exploited in so many ads. If the host asks suggestive questions and is clearly biased himself, the host can basically talk for the person asked.

I'm not trying to say that everything said in the ad is a lie, I guess it's not, most of it is true even. But if Samsung knows this, why don't they do some more honest advertisement? They don't need exploits like this, if their device is clearly superior as they claim.

What some posters fail to understand is that none of that matters in the context of the commercial. They aren't going after those that are Apple users or have already decided what to buy. Further - those that are familiar with the advertising business know that many ads aren't to sell a product specifically but to extend brand recognition and also reassure current customers that they made the right choice. And all brands do it..

I think it shows the complete opposite. You have to have confidence in your product to compare it to others.

I like this ad. It doesn't insult Apple users, it compares products.

After all, most of us agree Samsung DO make the best screens. Didn't everyone with a Retina MacBook Pro want a Samsung screen - not one made by LG?

However, I find with ads like this, it's hard to believe those are just random people from the street and not actors. Or at least, it's hard to know if the majority of people said "Yeah but, I'd rather have an iPad" and they didn't show those.

If your device needs to be rebooted daily, it most likely need to be replaced. I don't own a Note 3, but I have several friends who do and have never had that experience. I'm not saying YOUR use case is wrong or invalid. I'm saying go get your device checked out.
