Let the Samsung bashing begin!

Proud Note 3 owner.

Oh; when you guys line up for iPhone 6 don't forget about those Samsung made parts you will be buying keeping Samsung in business.

You mean the parts that gave them insider information on how to copy and crap on your biggest customer. You mean the Note 3 like my sons mom has that over boost the colors on the screen so pictures that you think will look good look like crap anywhere else. You mean the company that is so pathetic that every video she sends me from the standard camera app on it uses the compression I had on my palm treo 8 years ago and I can barely make out what it is. It looks good on her phone, but anywhere else is a joke. The only option would be to find a new app or upload it to youtube. Imagine that!

She's using it wrong.

And none of the components that Samsung made gave any insight into what they were or were not able to copy. What about a chip or screen enabled them to copy (if you are going down that rabbit hole) the iPhone?

Why can't I find these people when I roam the city? So I can say how much a piece of garbage the Galaxy is to them. But again, the host doesn't give a crap long as he got paid. And at the end of the day, he doesn't work for Samsung most likely and has the free one they gave him probably still in a box in the corner of his apartment and uses the iPad daily. That is my guess at any rate

I do love these threads.

Pure entertainment watching all the Apple fans get upset! Calm down people!

Lets turn it up a notch shall we - "So it was ok for Apple to do it in the Mac vs PC ads?" ;)

First of all, I've yet to see any Apple fans get upset about this ad. Secondly, Apple never went directly after a brand with those commercials. This entire thread is full of offended Samsung customers. I love it when a company is so insecure they have to directly go after the competition. No matter how hard they try they will never equal Apple products. BAM!!!

Even if everything is true in your post. So what? Since when is advertising honest?

I'm getting sick of these adverts, not just Samsung but from other competitors. Why can't they just advertise their products for the features that they have and let it stand on it's own two feet instead of always having to compare it directly with the iPhone 5S or the iPad Air.

And yes, Apple perhaps did start it with the Mac vs PC ads a while back. But the beauty of those ads was that Apple was generic about it, they didn't target specific manufacturers or particular devices. Just shows how desperate the competition must be if they're always attacking specific Apple products directly.

Exactly what I think with every Samsung, etc. advert. They talk about Apple so much, I'd consider them fanboys

LOL - clearly you see what you want to see if you don't see any Apple fans upset in this thread.

No it's not and car analogies on this forum should be banned. They are horrible.

It's more like Pinto vs Maserati! Bam!

If any Apple fans are offended, it's because of the crassness that Samsung is resorting to use to try to push there inferior products!

Only reason why samsung is making this ads is because they are afraid of apple, they are not sure if their products are good enough so they are making ads like this one to make themselves feel better about their products. Apple don't do things like that because they no that they make the best products in the world and they dont need to prove that to anybody

We can agree to disagree, but targeting Apple with what will be perceived as clear puffery wont work IMO, its too highly trusted. Samsung runs Apple down, IMO that wont work. Masses already trust Apple , and a puffery ad running Apple down wont work, the masses are not stupid, as EVERYONE has heard of Apple and the iPad. Wont work. This is not marketing perfume that costs $2, in a $22 fancy bottle, selling for $75, so that girls will find love, this is asking a company that makes fridges, freezers, TV's to suddenly advertise a tablet that is far better than the iconic iPad. Marketing almost all products is not comparable to targeting an iconic company that is already trusted by people who are not tech literate.

You're right. Let's agree to disagree. I'm going to switch from my original topic (since you refuse to respond to it anyway) and move on to yours. You keep using that word puffery. Do you really think it's appropriate in this case? Puffery deals with exaggerated claims. What was exaggerated? Thinness, lighness, or the screen? I am happy you used IMO however. Because not everyone feels the same as you do about Apple. What I did find ironic was your accusation of puffery from Samsung when you used it liberally throughout your post. I bolded it for you.

But seriously, it's all good. Healthy debate is one of the tenets of a free society. I'm enjoying myself. Thanks.

Amen brother!!

I really hate when companies need to bash another companies product when advertising their own. It really gives a negative effect on that company and would put me off buying from them.
Also if anybody is stupid enough to believe that ad is a real life occur acne and nobody picked the iPad over the Samsung then they deserve to have crap things.

Yeah commercials with this premise are always dumb no matter who does it. Juvenile even. I suppose there are some out there who believe everything they see on tv, but most people should realize it's edited (if it's not flat out scripted) so it becomes a meh piece.

As per the usual with Samsung commercials, the response is not how well they did the commercial, but how stupid it is.

The real comedy is when people say "its working, they got people talking about them".

Yes, I'm sure Samsung's end goal was to have their commercials laughed at by ios and android users alike...

Yeah, just not understanding how anyone could be a "fan" of a bottom of the barrel company like Samsung. It's like saying Hyundai makes better cars than Porsche at the same price point.

Satire I hope.

Um no. And Apple did similar ads. And still do - whether or not they actually mention the competition or not.

ahem... nothing is honest about samsung. so, he made a valid point anyway. ;)

Yes. Nothing is honest about Samsung. In other news - Apple is squeaky clean.

Absolutely scripted. The freaking first line is "I love tablets all day!"...when you know damn well he would have said iPad.
