Samsung make great hardware no doubt. The android OS just does not let that hardware shine properly. Meaning the android equivalent of a smiliar apple device must have twice the hardware specs to match performance :/
 
Haha, what a realistic scenario. Who ever wanted to play two movies simultaneously on a tablet??
 
If Samsung are so good at what they do, why do they spend so much time talking about Apple products.

If I had a serious game-changer I'd let it stand alone. Not keep looking over my shoulder.

You completely missed the point. They weren't playing two movies simultaneously on one tablet. They were sitting next to each other on a loveseat, playing the EXACT same movie on TWO different tablets.

Pretty much the stupidest scenario I have ever seen. Ever.

Last time I checked... Apple has 32% in tablets and 15% in smartphones.

You're right about the cash though. Apple makes a lot of money despite selling fewer units than "the other guys"
 
I hope that baby grows up to enjoy high quality, stable products.

I also hope everyone that sees this realizes just how stupid Samsung is making themselves look...

When Apple does release split screen I will be able to re-read all the trash talking comments regarding split screen on the right side of my iPad and compare it to all the praising comments of split screen and how Apple got it "just right" on the left side of my iPad.

Isn't that the reason why we all want multitasking, so that we can prove people online wrong a lot faster or is that just me?
 
just going to point out that the Dad wasn't watching a movie, he appears to be following a soccer match through some type of gamecast

Samsung has so many things wrong in their advertising it is very shameful. On one hand they mock "wallhuggers," hmm, ironic. Considering my iPad laughs its way past 10 hours, yet I've NEVER got better than 6 hours on my Galaxy Tab Pro!

I believe Samsung over boosts colors to make them pop. And make pictures look better on the phone. The problem comes when you look at them on another device. I recently took pictures of visiting family with my iPhone and her New Samsung phone. All of mine came out great while hers were hit and miss. The all looked great on her phone but when she sent them to me, some were fine, the others were awful.

Oh ok then I will be bookmarking this thread also, because I can guarantee you won't find a single person who trash talked it, praising it.

Will you find people praising it? Sure. Will it be the same person who trashed it? Nope.

Tablets (and specifically what Apple originally released the iPad intended for) are for accomplishing tasks on the go with a portable handheld device. Any split screen is just going to make it harder to see each task... its actually easier to switch between apps and see them both full screen... course this is what i do on my computer also - its not like any OS really lets you use 2 apps at the same time (best you can do is make front app window smaller so you can see another apps window, but you still cant interact with both without switching between them).

I really would not want this on my phone or tablet, especially for the use case depicted in the video - seriously who tries to watch 2 shows at once (didnt anyone learn anything from how PIP has failed to gain any usefullness?) - and then he gets a call and both videos keep playing while it is ringing? ROFL - thank you Apple for having basic common sense and realizing people would want everything to be paused when a call comes in... And I actually am on the fence about whether I like the new message notifications that no longer pause everything (the notification at the top can sometimes distract me and i miss some of a video and have to rewind or lose my game)

Exactly.

4-finger swiping to switch between two full screen apps makes more sense than two half screen apps on the screen at the same time. But that's just my opinion.

I'm sure there are cases where it would be useful... but not having that feature won't prevent me from buying an iPad or recommending them to friends and families.
 
the ads told me that split screen will merely cause you have a crossed eye!
 
All I can see is that the perfect tablet, let's say multitasking, lots of power, professional software, real usable keyboard, is simply a lean laptop.

This is getting stupid from my pov. Take the external ports away from a macbook air and you have it. Wow, welcome to 2008... The post-pc era or the poor-pc era?

The iPad has a great screen. Some other tablet gets a higher resolution screen, and AMOLED so that makes the iPad IPS screen bad? I just checked my Air, yes the screen hasn't changed to bad.. LOL

Another example of Samsung throwing features at consumers not really knowing or caring if they are practical or desired. Samsung is so terrible.
 
personally I don't get the hype of trying to use 2 apps on such small screens (Yes all tablets have small screens) 9-10" is still small IMHO
 
The funny thing about these comments is, if it were Apple announcing multitask and better contrast, many people in here praising the innovation. I love my retina iPad Mini, and would love to have splitscreen. It's hilarious to see how defensive some of you get.
 
What's going on?

Bad parenting fail. What parent gives a non-verbal child their own iPad to stay entertained!? Find another means Samsung-fail parent.
