My 55" 1080p HDTV only allows me to watch one show at a time, so please explain to me why I need my 9" iPad to play 2 shows concurrently?

The problem with these adverts is that iPad/iPhone users are being labeled by Samsung as idiots. Would I buy any product of a company that called me stupid? No!
On the other hand I have never really be tempted to buy a Samsung device as they don't support iOS or OS X. They do however miss out on selling me a washing machine, fridge, microwave, vacuum cleaner, monitor or TV.
Uh, I have ZERO desire to run two apps at the same time via split screen. What is the practical use?
I see two ads touting tablets running a cumbersome OS with a vulnerable and fragmented ecosystem.
These ads would not want me to buy a Samsung Tablet even if i dint have an iPad alrrady. These ads are horrible, they should learn something from Apple.
There's plenty of practical use. Watching the world cup is not one of them...unless you're the moron father in the ad of course.

Cause Mac VS PC commercial worked so well for apple!![]()
Honestly, Samsung is pulling away in Apple. Maybe not in sales, but in features and trying new things out. Same thing goes for Google. Apple is like a Microsoft of the 2000s. They have market share and cash, but don't push things. They wait and let other people try things out and push technology. Then they come in an and try to steal the market. Im sorry to say, but the true innovation and magic died with Steve. Watching and waiting on Apple is like watching paint dry. The fun and magic is gone....
Good ad. Honestly, i don't like Sammy too much but all companies seem to poke fun at each other. Don't see why we should care if they're bashing (apple included) the competition, not like we made the product. Were just the consumer. And it's funny because it's true.
In case you didn't notice, the Mac vs PC ads weren't blatantly bashing another product and they had humor. That's why nearly everyone loved them.
The Samsung ads are, well, blatantly bashing the top selling tablet (iPad) and don't have humor.
Samsung's new motto: If you can't beat 'em, bash 'em.
Go to your local best buy and play one of the hd movies that comes on the tablet and see for yourself. It also plays the movies full screen with no black bars!
So, instead of focusing on the kid and using the app to play with the kid, meaning quality father-son time, the dad wants to split the screen so the kid can have the kid app, and he can have his dad app and they can ignore each other?
Am I missing something in this message? :roll eyes:
Oh, yes, and Apple's "parenting" tv ad shows the parents all focused on using kid apps to play with the kids, help the kids, engage the kids.... Hmm....
That last comment is nonsensical. Aspect ratio on movies varies. There is no such thing as a TV or tablet or computer or phone that can display every single movie without "black bars" without stretching the image thus distorting its picture quality. So just seeing demo that shows no black bars has nothing to do with the quality of its picture. I'm sure they picked a movie with the perfect aspect ratio for the tablet or they just cropped it which I much less like, but maybe I'm a perfectionist.
Not sure how anyone could defend Apple here. The omission of multi-tasking in the same screen on the iPad is sheer stupidity. I jail broke my first ipad a couple of years ago and there was a great multi-tasking program on Cydia, but its not the same as native programming. And that's just the software....
I had a go with the new Surface 3 last weekend at Best Buy. Aside from Windows, which I hate but could get used to again, the hardware is good to go with a full Intel i3 processor, 256GB SSD, MicroSD slot and soon to arrive docking station with USB ports.
There is no reason why Apple couldn't implement any of these, but has refused to add any kind of external storage options that might hinder the sale of their flagship models.
The current version of iOS has seemed kind of buggy to me lately as well. My screen orientation refuses to flip when its supposed to, and my browser crashes on a regular basis. I could go on about the iPhone as well, but why bother.
Apple needs to start tightening things up with both OS's and the hardware that its designing, or I may start to look elsewhere for my future needs. The tragedy is that I've been a die hard Apple fan since 2004, and have made a ton of dough off of their stock within the past 5 years....what a shame.
