Apple is already working on that and Samsung is sure to copy – faster than they did, the finger print thing. In cell display integration with solar charging on the iphone 8s

On both your points, how do you know? I don't remember seeing any specs for the iPhone 6, perhaps you have a link for us to peruse?

Has anyone noticed curious detail: there are SO MANY people with various iPhones and just a few guys with samsung's shovel-like undertablet / overphone device? I guess, they 'r just offended by the fact itself ))

Nevermind the obvious blind biased commentary...

the anecdotal stories "I never see X phone in my area, so they must suck" is a silly argument that is very narrow in scope.

It's going to be completely dependant on your group, who you see regularly and the region you are in.

Apple has tremendous market share in the USA (as this report shows).

What this report doesn't show is how the iPhone is positioned in the market internationally. Which, believe it or not is dramatically different, from Country to Country.

In my particular area, with the groups of people I see, iPhones are a distant 3rd in popular usage. You will see more Android phones in peoples hands, and shockingly, you will still see more people using Blackberries. Just as an anecdotal example of my own, In my group of friends, co-workers and aquantances I see regularly, only 3 people I can think of own iphones. and only one of them has a 5s (the others are still 4s). Everyone else is using a mix of new and old blackberries, or Samsung phones. LOTS of samsung phones.

But since this is only a sample of people, I don't assume this is even remotely a large enough sample size to come to the conclusion about anyones phones sales or quality or usability.

LMAO! Loved it when the cleaning guy just unplugged a users power adaptor!

Well done Samsung... well done.

Next I see them hitting Apple about not having a way to use microSD cards!

Apple can do it, in the same slot where we insert the SIM cards. This is not a design issue.

The BlackBerry CEO called iPhone users "wall huggers" first in March.

I hope this means BlackBerry will focus again on BB10 devices with replaceable batteries.

Very good ad even though it's comparing apples (small phones/small batteries) to oranges (large phone/large battery). They are also taking advantage of the reports (and my personal experience) that since the iOS 7 upgrade, battery life has been worst.

Regardless of Samsung's truthiness, over the years they have influenced me in that I do want a larger iPhone. I'm not sure I'm ready for a Note 3 sized device, but I understand how something that sized can be desired.

Tim Cook (and economics) is leading Apple away from it's Zoolander-like worship of smallness, and I think that Apple is going to reach even greater heights over the next few years.

Your getting a day ? mines flat by lunch time, i have to carry a brick of a charger around with me "just in case" i need a phone that evening..

Undocked at 100% at 6:30 am, usually 20%-10% by around 3pm, flat or at <10% by the time i leave the office at 5:30pm, usually re-docked around 11pm when i go to bed.

been the same since the iphone 3G, apple seem to have kept the battery from the origonal , non-3G iphone, added 3G data (which sucks power if you have a poor reception).

Turning off data to preserve battery life is not an option as i need email and lync messaging direct to my phone.

Mate I dont know what you do with your phone but you must be using it constantly thoughout that time.

I wake up at 6:30, spend about half an hour browsing the web, at least 2 hours listening to music stored on my phone or streaming from soundcloud at work, Clash of clans every few hours plus regular texts and short calls. It's now 1:20am as I go to bed with 19% battery on my iphone 5.

I don't have a charger at work or in my car and I easily get through the day.

Regardless of battery size differences etc….

Samsung has characterized Apple luddites perfectly. Most of you accept what Apple delivers and find justifications for the shortcomings.

Apple has battery issues….NEVER FIXED
Apple does not have a removable battery…..NOT CONSUMER CENTRIC
Apple's size has not kept pace with consumer desires….NOT SURPRISING

I am sure Apple will claim all battery issues resolved with the iPhone 6…cause there is a bigger battery.

I Hope IOS 8 is a major improvement as well….I am stuck in the Apple ecosphere with my investment in iTunes related stuff.

Luddites?

Or maybe they like the iPhone better than Samsung phones and find the iPhone to be a superior product?

I have a Samsung phone for international travel and I really dislike it.

I definitely have quite the Apple ecosystem going at my house (2 MBPs, 4 iPads, 3 Apple TVs, 2 iPhones and 3 small iPods). Of all the devices the iPhone is my least favorite for 2 main reasons - size and battery. It looks like the size issue will be resolved with the iPhone 6. I am doubtful the battery issue will be.

I am with those who would prefer a thicker/heavier phone with a much improved battery. If it weren't for the iCloud apps (calendar, reminders, etc), I would be very tempted to explore other phone brands. I am not on the phone quite that much but every day it will drop below 50% so I am charging it every night. Some days, it doesn't make it until bedtime. I honestly don't know how iPhones could be used as a business tool as it barely lasts long enough for the average consumer.

Actually... I would't mind a replaceable battery.

I often use the phone heavily while I'm away from power sources for long periods of time, or traveling and unable to stop to recharge. I got around the power issue somewhat by getting a Mophie battery case.

lol.... that was pretty well made. :)

I like the idea but do hope the extra is not going to cost me another 100 quid.
I thought that it was quite a humorous ad. Some of the charging scenarios are so over-the-top that I found it to be light-hearted jabs, not a mean-spirited attack. I think that makes it a well-done ad.

I despise Samsung, and their crap ads.

However, I have to admit they have a point about the iPhone battery life. It's just not good enough.

A phone needs to be able to last all day with moderate use.
My 2+ year old iPhone 4 (running iOS 5.1.1) still has great battery life. It had the best battery life of any smartphone I've ever owned, until... Nokia Lumia 520 running WP 8.0. Battery life on THAT is insane. But it runs WP8 so there's that.

My iPhone 4 continues to be my go-to phone.

Please...

I have a Soldier who traded his iPhone 5 in for the S5. Within two weeks his screen had already broke. And as far as his battery, he had his phone on Ultra power saving mode and it still by noon was needing to charge his phone. I have a 5c. All day "work" battery life and that is close to 12 hours. And when i need a good charge, the phone charges extremely fast within 10 minutes. My issue with Samsung is that they use USB 3.0 cords which is supposed to be produce faster speeds. Not saying that isn't true, but when the USB cord goes out (as did my husbands Note 3 cord within a month) We could not simply go to the Samsung kiosk area in Best Buy in get one because acceding to the Best Buy Samsung guy "Samsung doesn't supply them out to Best Buy". And USB 2.0 is so slow you won't be able to get a decent charge to finish out the day (at least from what i saw). I don't understand if your flagship phones are so good how come the accessories for them are available in a brick and mortar store? The hype over Samsung and Apple is tired and played out. I wish some of these forums were being used to legitimate argument rather than bashing people who use iPhones or Samsungs.

You cannot deny that Samsung gives work to a lot of people in their ads.

Admittedly, the battery life of my iPhone 4S sucks, but if I ever moved to Android, Samsung would be way at the bottom of my list.

Dear Samsung,

You make funny videos, I laugh. But what not funny is our break time. We would like juice boxes and coloring book.

Sincerely,

Child Labor

So the floor of the FoxConn factory that Apple uses somehow has different standards than the floor that Samsung uses? Or are we just ignoring the fact that Apple makes things in the same place Samsung does?

When the Apple fans get beaten into a corner THIS is what they post in the final hours of their defence ... unbelievable.

As you clearly plan on exerting none.

And this is how they can get away with publishing a fanzine and claim it's news. Because so many are perfectly happy to take their news spun, provided it's spun in the right direction.

You keep flailing in any direction but the one of your argument. Sooner or later you'll hit something, but what it is you know not.

The only problem with that argument is that the Samsung customer has the option but iPhone users have no choice.
It's like driving a car with either the windows down or air conditioning (Samsung) or just the windows down (Apple). The Samsung user don't have to use air conditioning but it's there if needed.

It's not an argument, it's a fact. Watched a guy at LaGuardia charge his Samsung brick the whole time we were waiting for a flight, over an hour, quite slow. I didn't really need to charge my iPhone, I was just topping it off.

Also, there is no practical difference between someone carrying a spare battery (as they mention in the ad) and me carrying a spare battery that can be plugged into iPhone to charge it. Either way, still carrying an extra piece of equipment. But I don't, have a battery case from Phone Suite so when the charge starts getting low, I just press a button and it recharges, no need to be connected to the wall at all. This commercial is nonsense.

Nice ad but not really convincing.

Samsung would be better to bring out a special S5 model that literally had a 5600 mAh (double) capacity battery, just a bit thicker. I know plenty of people that would choose a model like this.

Apple could do the same, but I doubt they would what with the fixation on making everything thinner. 6c could stand for "capacity" instead of pointless colour!

The Mophie partnered with the iPhone 5s solves this.

This keeps getting posted and I agree but iPhone users need to stop pointing to 3rd party solutions that halfway solve problems with their products and drive up the costs.

Instead of just fixing the battery life issue, Apple wants us to buy a thicker heavier battery case, making the phone heavier than a Note 2

Instead of giving us wacom support we have to get third party husky crayon pens with a terrible UX.

Instead of giving us quick access to information on the home screen we have to jail break.

I loved my 3GS but this is one of the reasons I went straight to Android . . . . when I saw that I get all of that in one device right off of the shelf.

And as for the battery life superiority of the Note 2 (one of the 3rd major reasons I got one) I leave everyone with these:

Batt Life 1.png Batt LIfe 2.png Batt Life 3.png

The first grab is from months ago, showing how after almost 2 days of being off the charger I still have 15% left. That bit would get me through the next 2 hours no problem, giving me 2 solid days of use with light work.

The next two are a combo of yesterday (heavy use) and today (light use).

Of course there is a difference, because I can just swap the battery instead of having it dangling while I use the phone, which would suck.

And with my little Z10 battery charger, I don't need to carry an extra adapter for when both batteries have to be filled. I can daisy chain the battery charger to the phone and charge the two of them with one USB cable and one source.

I can even choose to swap the battery, or, as you do, plug the charger into the phone to charge the battery in the phone from the one outside if I did not want to reboot.

As a former Galaxy Note Ower I can tell by looking at your screen usage, that you hardly used your phone at all. At least not for browsing, videos, etc.

Heavy usage...
