My brother has an S5. I have been using Apple products since 2005. The S5 is better than the iPhone 5S. The fact that at this point the only defense Apple has is the amount of Apps in the AppStore, is enough to prove this. More options, better software innovation and better screens. Better camera as well.

The neat thing about using a Mophie is that I can take it with me when I'm going to need it and leave it when I'm not. I only need the Mophie installed long enough to recharge. I am very hard on batteries when I go places like Walt Disney World. Even though I have a DSLR camera with me for the planned shots, the iPhone 5s is great for those shots that I really need to take in a hurry. It's also great for videos of the kid's faces on rides.

I think people who see it that way are looking through their Apple shaded lenses.

it's not putting portraying their customers in a negative light as much as showing how they are accepting Apple's limitations as 'normal' or 'expected' like their isn't a better option out there.
Yes, because they're blinded by their fanboyism. THAT is the stereotype in a nutshell. Sure there are some people like that, but plenty others have balanced out the pros and cons and decided the iPhone was still worth it. The ad furthermore portrays Apple users as entitled, per the plug scene towards the end.

If a customer is offended because their behavior actually reflects themselves, then that's on them. The ads are funny and effective, just like the Mac vs. a PC which tried to thinly veil they were representing the MAC and PC as cool/hip, vs. out of date when they were also taking shots at their customer bases.

Both ad sets were very good. I was a heavy PC user, but still gave those ads their due. And as someone who uses mostly Apple products, I've Samsung their due for some very well done ads.

Samsung campaigns are awful. How many people actually fly every year? I fly for business regularly, and still didn't feel connected to this spot.

The target audience Samsung is going for are the people too stupid to charge their phones overnight. And the lack of interchangeable batteries is something the competition cried in 2007, but the iPhone still took off.

Besides, there are more planes out there that have in-seat power, and the business traveler knows that. I don't think Samsung's PR team thinks these things through.

Hilarious ad. Sarnsungs have better battery life if you carry seven batteries? I'm sold.

Or you know, I could just charge my iPhone while sleeping and use it all day like a normal person.

Please, you can find that in some seats, but it is not at all common.

As a former Galaxy Note Ower I can tell by looking at your screen usage, that you hardly used your phone at all. At least not for browsing, videos, etc.

Heavy usage...

Here, let me help him out.

Galaxy Note 3.

All the screen on time was browsing the internet, watching videos, email, text, etc.

LTE on all the time. Never use Wifi.

So let me get this straight:

I can have better battery life if I carry around extra batteries, or if I disable all of the components of my device that I use most often? The first I solve with a Jackery battery pack (which I've never needed) and the second I solve with self control (and using my iPad Mini when I don't need my phone).

I'll agree, the iPhone has a smaller battery and I expect it to have less battery life than the GS5 with twice the capacity. That being said, I often have 60+% when I go to plug it in at the end of the day (because, you know, I actually charge it every night).

Let's forget that rebuttal for a moment, and try this one: batteries degrade over time, we should all know that. iPhone users upgrade less than Android users, so a lot of people are still sporting 4S's with 3 year old batteries that have been used every single day. Meanwhile, how many people are still carrying around GS2's?

You do realize those are percentages right?

That's what the (%) stands for.

Further down my list is usually Netflix, Dropbox, MS Office, Hangouts, Gmail, Mail, Wunderlist, and Asana.

The device has been idle for 4% and like I said this past day I haven't been using my phone for anything but making phone calls and replying to texts.

As a former and current iOS user, I couldn't even make it a day with just that on an iPhone or an iPod Touch.

whats the difference carrying an extra battery or carrying a battery pack you charge your phone with? (well obvious some losses, but generally speaking)

Size and weight. A battery is much lighter than a battery pack. And the extra cable of course.

And as the Z10 battery charger is so little and light and requires no additional cable, you get 4 functions for basically the bulk of the small battery:

1. Battery case
2. Extra battery
3. Power pack
4. Daisy-chain battery charger

Exactly. I agree 100%

And most (all?) air travelers will have some sort of luggage. You can keep a tiny external battery pack in your luggage to give you that extra boost if needed.

Would I love an iPhone that had 2-day battery life? Yes! But that's not my issue here.

This whole "wall hugger" campaign is kinda silly... since the wall is not the only place you can charge your phone.

I noticed all the people in the commercial with a suitcase or a purse... yet it never occurs to them that they could have a tiny battery so they're NOT chained to the wall.

They made sure to pack their wall charger... but they couldn't stick this in their luggage? Anker Battery

If you're just walking around the city, sure, carrying an extra thing would be a pain.

But if you've got luggage, a laptop bag, a purse, ANYTHING... you don't have to be chained to the wall.

The only "complaint" I have about the iPhone is non user replaceable battery which will never happen.

lots of phones last more than 12 hours, just not the iphone.

Samsung "innovation" at its finest...well, we can't fix the battery, but we'll let you swap a new battery in and/or make your phone useless in the time being. Translation: yeah, we can't fix the problem either. In other news, we've introduced a band-aid and duct tape to make it just go away.

Call me when their battery (or any battery) lasts more than 12 hours with regular use.

Try the new blackberries.

I definitely have quite the Apple ecosystem going at my house (2 MBPs, 4 iPads, 3 Apple TVs, 2 iPhones and 3 small iPods). Of all the devices the iPhone is my least favorite for 2 main reasons - size and battery. It looks like the size issue will be resolved with the iPhone 6. I am doubtful the battery issue will be.

I am with those who would prefer a thicker/heavier phone with a much improved battery. If it weren't for the iCloud apps (calendar, reminders, etc), I would be very tempted to explore other phone brands. I am not on the phone quite that much but every day it will drop below 50% so I am charging it every night. Some days, it doesn't make it until bedtime. I honestly don't know how iPhones could be used as a business tool as it barely lasts long enough for the average consumer.

I'm the same, I have 2 MBP's, 2 MBA's, iPad, iMac, 2 ATV, and a Mac Mini. Got several 4S's but I use them on my motorcycle.

I had a 5S but sold it as work gives me a 5C but I prefer using my Moto X much more. I go back to the 5C every once in a while but end up back to the Moto X by the end of the day.

iOS 8 looks much better though and is much needed but most of the features I already have in the Moto X. One thing I really want in Android is a proper Do Not Disturb and I hope they do it better than the Apple system.

I have a samsung Note II(15 months old) as primary phone and iPhone 4S(2 years old) as backup. Note II is much more heavily used and normally have to recharge it by end of day with 20-30% left. iPhone 4S is used very occationally, after 2-3 days I still have more than 50% left. But if I do the opposite, iPhone 4S discharges much more quickly, Note II cannot get the same level of percentage left if unused like iPhone 4S. Best part of iPhone is consistency and standby battery usage. Note II is worse in this area. The worst part of Note II or may be other Samsung phone is consistency. For best case, I see about 1-2%/hour drop when lightly used, worst case, I have seen 20-30%/hour drop in the same usage pattern, when a system process holding 1 CPU at 100%! Usaually, I see about 5%/hour drop.

A tiny bit literal, are we?

"Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

Of course Einstein never said this. It is your own belief. You want your belief to have some authority, hence the use of Einstein's name. I get it. :)

Guess they've never heard of a battery pack which can charge anything that uses a USB cable. I routinely get 9-10hrs out of a full charge with a 5S anyways.
