I love how Apple just ignores them lol

Apple isn't the target audience for these ads. I think they're very effective adds that point out apples faults and they're funny. Much better than Apples sappy family coming together because of Apple devices style adds.

Actually liked it. Laughed at the end of the 10.1 Ad.

After the extremely embarrassing Galaxy Gear Ad this was needed for Samsung imo.

That's because they're in first place, and everyone knows about the iPad. Back before the days of the iDevices, when Macs were trailing behind Windows PCs, Apple did all kinds of "we're better than those guys and here's why" ads, just like this.

It's less "Apple would never do that cuz it's tasteless and stupid", and more "Apple doesn't have to do that right now because they're making boatloads of money and are currently considered the standard".

You'll have to pardon Renzatic if he seems unstable - you know there was a recent Hot Pocket recall....

It is not like Apple never done something like that before. Still remember Mac vs PC ads? Still remember how Apple comparing Nexus 7 with iPad mini?

Give it a rest about the Mac vs. PC ads. Those were done years ago and Apple no longer does it. Since this ad is about "Today's" phone then let's keep the post relevant to today's ads.

Oh about this ad? The design of it is good, nothing original, but good. Would be a LOT better if Samsung just pointed out what their product does well BY ITSELF and not put their competition in it. Oh the irony in Samsung's marketing. They diss Apple's product to make theirs look better but behind the scenes they steal everything Apple does. Oy Vey.

I don’t ever feel constrained by the inability to have a split screened experience. I’m not saying it should’t be done... It’s just that the iPad is so good at immersing us in each app’s universe, that I feel like a split screen is not the greatest of ideas.

Oh I do. I find it a pain every single day.
Chatting to someone on an IM client, and I can't look at a web page link, or copy a link to youtube etc etc, without changing screens.

I don't need loads of windows, but really on a 10" screen, it's REALLY about time this was sorted out.

You can do this with the Microsoft Tablets, you can do this with the Samsung Tablets, and yet again, Apple is dragging it's feet.

We all know Apple WILL do this. The point is, we should not be having to with till the 6th (if not, who knows, 7th? generation of their device to get something that would of been nice on day one)

And yet Apple, Netflix, and other streaming services get to board HD broadcasts because of resolution but many customers fail to understand that resolution (for video) alone isn't the only factor - bitrate is a huge factor.

Apple for a long time has touted Retina display. Samsung taking advantage of what is and isn't HD isn't hitting a low. It's capitalizing on a differentiator.
Streaming Full HD videos looks pretty crappy because of the extremely low bitrate. Blu-ray offers the best HD option. But the UI, pics, videos recorded from the cam, and other higher bitrate 1080p content you can put on a phone, provides a better visual image on a 1080p phone, while they are at a disadvantage on a screen that is lower than 720p. That's a pretty good differentiation between the two as you mentioned.

Multitasking is why I rarely use my iPad anymore. I hate my droid though so I won't be switching anytime soon... but those commercials have me thinking about it....

Full HD?

I hate the whole HD buzz word. Insisting that HD is the best for every application makes no sense.

In the case of the iPad, why does the narrator imply that the iPad screen is not HD? The iPad is 2048 by 1536, which is 1.5 times more pixels than "full hd", 1920 by 1080?

In the case of the iPhone, no, the screen is NOT hd. However, the high pixel pitch means that at the appropriate viewing distance, the human eye can not discern the pixels. At that point, what good is shoving more pixels on there? If the eye can't appreciate them, its just more overhead for the processor and less efficient.

The darned "HD is awesome" craze has held back (non Apple) laptops for the past decade. Having an HD display on a 15 inch laptop is useless. It gets me so annoyed. I hate hearing about HD as if it's amazingly high resolution. (oblig XKCD: http://xkcd.com/732/)

The multi tasking thing actually does look spiffy. If Apple had set up their iPad screen size the way that ISO A series paper is set up (meaning that when the screen is divided in half, each half retains the same aspect ratio as the original) it seems like it would make split screen multitasking very easy.

Samsung recently blotted their credibility page, by copyingApples backward step stop-gap "feature" of fingerprint recognition. A crazy idea smacking of white elephantiasis by Apple. Not one of Apples best moments. And the fact they saw fit to imitate it shows that Samsung really are a tad short of ideas indeed

When companies spend their advertising budget on your products rather than their own I would have to say you are doing something right. Jealousy is not a color Samsung wears well.

i'm pretty sure he his. i think he tweeted it from his iPhone.

At least they didn't make fun of users this time. That's when their ads are actually annoying. Ripping on a competitor, or at least showing where you beat them on a particular feature, is a time-honored ad style. Who cares?

If you got apples at home, apples at work... you gotta carry around apples. I bought an android phone 9 month ago... it's an okay phone but I'll exchange it for an iPhone next time... if the apple company will make one with bigger apples.

And I want a bigger screen too!
I'll buy a shirt with bigger pockets if I have to.

It is not like Apple never done something like that before. Still remember Mac vs PC ads? Still remember how Apple comparing Nexus 7 with iPad mini?

I think with the Mac Vs PC ads, Apple did say that PC's were better workstations for offices, but that the Mac could do so too, therefore still cutting the PC some slack as a good office component, while the Mac excelled in other areas. Again, SOME slack.

All I got from this is "Why would you buy a stupid smaller screen, get ours"

I'm all for bashing competition, but not to the extent of "This other company is awful"

And sorry, I don't know the Nexus 7 comparing? Totally my bad!

If I had Giant Hands like an NBA Superstar I would want to use a Galaxy Note 5 as my phone too. Can't imagine a tiny stylus would be very helpful though....

i'm pretty sure he his. i think he tweeted it from his iPhone.

Haha, good one, and of course he is and he was paid handsomely for it! Hasn't anyone seen the 2 (!) minute commercial where Lebron sells out his entire family to show them all keeping it real while living their beautiful lives filled with a full array of Samsung products?

Only at the very end of this mini-movie do you find out it was a samsung commercial and that wasn't an iPad the James' were using as a family.

:)

P.S. If I had hands the size of a basketball player I'd want a giant cellphone too, so what's their point for the rest of us? Tone deaf as usual, these guys are. ~Yoda

Features vs. UX. Those who judge on the former will never understand the latter.

Well they're right to a certain point.
It's not great at multi tasking and the current single screen size isn't ideal for every user.

Yaaaawwwwn….. The features they show are interesting but not very practical for me anyway. Not sure I'd want to check email while watching a movie and I definitely would not want to clip an image on my cell phone.

Apple just needs to bury the multi-tasking issue and the big screen issue.
