And that's why their design is always one step behind.

Sorry. I have both... iPhone 6 has an "okay" design, but the S6 Edge is absolutly beautiful. Sooooo after iPhone 6 and now after S6 Apple is the one behind.

I have almost anything from Apple. Fanboy? Naaa not really. I still like other tech, and I'm not totally blind, for what else there is to buy. But always funny to see how this is almost religion to some people. Seek help, cos if this can make you go up in flames you have serious issues.

Oh please. some Apple fans are just ironic. They swore by Apple's no large screen phone and made fun of Samsung's Note series for its huge size. But the moment Apple threw in the 6+, you readily paid for it because you wanted a larger phone.

But then again, you seem to be praising Apple with your post. Wake up and smell the reality, Apple isn't as innovative as you think. They copied and stole ideas too. They got patents for ridiculous reasons like the shape of a phone. I mean they got a patent on a stair design too!

I don't know anyone who swore by the small screen. Just about everyone wanted a larger screen. And Apple caved and delivered.

If you think the Samsung phones are beautiful, then you dont have an eye for design. All the mis-aligned elements makes me sick, getting the same feeling when looking at that phone as when someone scratches a blackboard with their fingernails.

The complete and utter lack of alignment on anything shows that Samsung still has a LONG way to go if it wishes to catch up with Apple's level of meticulous hardware design.

I know for a fact that a lot of iphone users would happily buy a smaller iphone if it was made. The 4 inch screen was perfect. For me and a lot of others, the iphone 6 is a bit too big.

I'll address the seemingly ignored elephant in the room - this 'British Actor' isn't Richard Ayode (or at least I'm 99% sure it isn't) simply out of the mere fact us Brits don't say Aluminium like that and I highly doubt Richard Ayode would say it like that either.

In another note, BOO SAMSUNG, boooo.

I completely agree with you, that's one of the first things that stuck out to me when I held the phone in person.

On a similar note, I think it's comical that Samsung removed USB 3.0 from the phone. It was one of the key features in it's previous flagship phone so you can tell they obviously did it to make the bottom more symmetrical and similar to the iPhone.

(I'm so glad USB C is here but it's almost a shame that Samsung is going to use such a beautiful port to mimic Apple further in it's next phone)

This thread is filled with so much ******** it deserves a hashtag.
#soeffenwhat

It's an ad, not an affront to someone personal sensibilities. Sweet Jeebus people. It's not like they're clubbing baby seals with spiked baseball bats.

They finally started focusing on aesthetics with their flagship devices. They wanted to present it in the best light. Who does "best light" better than Apple? Of course they were going to emulate the style of Apple's ads.

Their ads aren't for Apple people so it really shouldn't matter. Their ads are made to convince Android buyers to get Samsung instead of HTC, LG, Motorola. You know, the companies they actually compete against.

No, it's not like "they're clubbing baby seals with spiked baseball bats" (Why you need to go so extreme there makes no sense to me) however when you're trying to let the world know your better than the other guy, it's good to not COPY him.

To be fair, the article said "sounds like Richard Ayoade", which is sort of bizarre as I doubt that was the intention.

He would pronounce it, in an ad made for the U.S. market, the way he was paid to pronounce it.

This ad is so sad, and was not well thought out at all. It will annoy Apple owners and Samsung Fandroids alike, for different reasons. I anticipate it will quietly but quickly disappear. Especially given the feedback on the YouTube page.

If we just stay in 2015 territory then the design of the S6 is uncannily similar to the iPhone 6.

Beyond that you have the aptly named Samsung Pay (Apple's version is called Apple Pay).

And now this wonderful video. Don't forget that's just recently..

Best post I've read in a while!

Insert the fry not sure meme saying

I'm not sure if they are
Parodying us or copying us.

Wow, this has really hit a nerve here.

So much spite and hate coming out here.

You know what I find funny, no matter WHAT Samsung do, so many here say it's wrong.

They make a high grade plastic phone, with removable battery / card slot, its a cheap junk phone unlike Apple.

They then make a more Apple like Aluminium phone, and now, it's wrong as it's copying Apple.

They make adverts like Apple used to, making fun of the competition and they are wrong, and they should focus on their product like Apple do.

So Samsung makes an advert similar to apple that focusses on the manufacturing, and are then wrong again for that.

It's a odd mental scenario on there forums.

Apple fans, criticise the hell out of Samsung for doing things there way, and not the way Apple would do it.

Samsung then do something more along the lines of Apple, and then they are moaned at again.

Basically whatever Samsung do, here, will be wrong, they can never ever win in many peoples eyes here.

"We are Samsung" ....(and we always copy;))

I'm really amazed at how shamelessly they copy everything Apple!

The nerve isn't spite or hate. It's pity and bemused amusement.

Because this is so clearly a misstep. It's transparent and obvious in ways that are quite frankly jaw-dropping.

I don't think Jony Ive has the nicest of voices but why did samsung think a guy that sounds like Richard Ayoade was a good choice?

I mean a nasal, geeky and pretty common english accent is not a nice thing to listen to.

Also a lot of the samsung ad has faked gold images and exaggerated versions of reality vs apples ad that is just the factory nicely lit and shot from great angles.

A perfect summary of what the hivemind here seems to be.
