And summing up the cost of all your audio devices (instead of at worst summing up the cost of outfitting them all with Lightning to 3.5 mm adaptors) is not a dumb argument either?

And carrying two phones and paying for two data contracts is only a minor inconvenience?

The difference is that putting a second game console below your TV is much less of a drag than carrying a second phone with you.

I got 4 multisims which allows me to run the same data plan on my iPhone 5, iPhone 6, Galaxy S6 and iPad at the same time

Again, innovative compared to what/whom? Touch ID, 64 bit mobile processors, Apple Pay, hardware encryption/secure enclave, HomeKit, 3D Touch, Live Photos, great designs copied by OEMs, etc. weren't innovative?

If they're happy on Android, why are they waiting on Apple to do something innovative? I don't know anyone who moved from Android to iPhone that's waiting on Samsung or Google to do something innovative... I doubt they even know what's happening in that camp anymore.

Given the sales figures of the Samsung s7, looks like those people exist, many of them.

Note 7 looks awesome

Love the fact you can pre order and you get a free VR and 256GB SD card

Do you get the VR also? I thought it was just the micro sd

The surface pro didn't influence the iPad Pro? The stylus? The same stylus that Apple said was stupid. The bigger than 9.7in display? The same display that Apple said was the perfect size (even tho they backtracked on that with the iPad mini) and them trying to act like iPad Pro can replace a laptop? Dude come on. If the Surface Pro and even Sammy's Note and Tab pro had never been a thing...the iPad Pro wouldn't have existed. Just like if smaller tablets had never been a thing, the iPad mini wouldn't have happened.

Despite what many on here think, Apple has borrowed and has been "influenced" by many other companies. You honestly think the iPhone would've gotten a bigger screen if it wasn't for Samsung? When the Note was originally released, many laughed at it. "Oh that will never catch on" Fast forward some years later, and Apple has a phablet out.

As for as the iris scanner being more secure, you can't duplicate somebody's eye. But you can duplicate somebody's fingerprint. That's basically what I was told. It did unlock the phone pretty fast tho. No lag or mess ups. I thought it was cool

Lol, the shade is real

The Surface Pro didn't create the concept of a tablet with a keyboard or a tablet with a stylus. And it isn't like the Surface has been some huge success that Apple feels the need to compete with. Though the Surface is some nice hardware.

I know there are similarities between the Surface and the iPad Pro. I get it. But they are such obvious items and similar to things that existed before that I don't know if you can say the iPad Pro is dependent on the existence of the Surface. Heck I had a Palm Pilot which had a stylus in 1998. And that wasn't the first such device with a stylus.

Cool about the Iris scan though. Maybe you can have a few key apps locked to Iris scan open only. So even if phone gets opened through finger print or guessing of password, the key app can't be used without iris scan.

I can insert a DVD upside-down and it won't play. Is it the manufacturer's fault for now adding a laser on the opposite side? No. These examples go on and on. Moral of the story? Don't be stupid, and insert the S Pen correctly.

Facebook for Android loads light years faster than it does on the iPhone. Coded differently, but that's just one example.

As mentioned earlier, you're clearly a disgruntled anti-Android user, clearly made evident by your posts in this thread.

Can you insert a USB cable wrong? How about an AC power cord? 9V battery? HDMI cable? The world is literally filled with items designed not to be inserted wrong. Your attempts to blame the user instead of Samsung are truly pathetic. It's just as idiotic as blaming the user for entering letters into a field that's supposed to be a number when the programmer should be checking for this and not allowing it in the first place. Good design means the engineers considered ALL possible scenarios and took steps to prevent them from happening. Lazy engineers blame the user.

Facebook loads "light years faster"? Outright lie. I tried and they are both fast. You want to provide some video proof? I'm betting no. Besides, there's no need to. There are numerous speed test videos on YouTube between the S7 and 6S Plus. And the iPhone comes out on top in just about everything. But they are pointless because none of those tests does anything that would strain the devices. Loading up Apps over and over is not a good way to test a device to see which is faster.

And I see you want to avoid my comment on 64bit Android Apps. Probably a good idea, since you don't want to discuss a topic you know nothing about with someone who develops for Android (me) and has a very good grasp of the topic.

Not a lot actually. I only have <35 apps. Only a few games and social media apps are paid, which I've already re-bought on Android ages ago.

Dude, if you hate apple so much and are ready to switch, head on over to SamsungRumors.com. Why are you even posting on MacRumors.com? Just switch already.

Can anyone tell me, am I reading Macrumors right now?
Considering that this is probably Apple's biggest competition it makes sense that they talk about it.

I still find it hilarious that Samsung, pre-iPhone 6, misread what Apple was doing with "curved glass" and thought they meant curved screen, and doubled down on this idea...and now they are stuck pretending like anyone ever wanted that.
I don't think you know what you're talking about? Samsung came up with an idea that people love (yes owners of the Edge series actually DO love the curved screen)
[doublepost=1470172146][/doublepost]
Meanwhile: the rest of the world enjoy phones that work reliably and smoothly, as that's more important than customising icons and installing bloated widgets on an OS which uses Java for its applications.
The rest of the world? Considering that Android has roughly 80% of the worlds smartphone market I'd say the rest of the world enjoys a bit of customization.

If you like the Samsung stuff - go for it.

Rather use iPhone? No problem.

As a consumer, you have the choice buy the phone that you like best and works for you.

Or you can go into comments sections and waste time blathering-on about which is best like a bunch of ten year olds.

....hold on I'm in a comments section lol

Uhm, I want that.

I think it looks awesome.

Well this is a nice accessory, but it will probably be too expensive..

As an ex Samsung user (Note 2.. it wasn't that long ago... where did all the numbers go?!), just a friendly reminder that once the Note 8 comes out in... well at the rate they're putting new ones out about 4 weeks... they probably won't be very interested in keeping the software up to date on the Note 7. It'll all be about marketing the fabulous Note 8. They're great phones, but not if you get obsessive about Android versions.

If you like to have the latest versions, iPhone or Nexus are the only ways to go for iOS or Android.

I wouldn't mind trying one for fun, but I really wish it had stock Android 7.0... I cannot stand these 3rd party android wraps... Well, hopefully Apple has a few surprises next month

.. I am kinda disappointed that Samsung basically released a Galaxy S7 Edge+

Google should start making Google Play Editions again. I was close to jumping ship a few years ago before they went back to making just Nexus devices.

With all the rave reviews from the S7, I would totally give a Note 7 Google Play Edition a whirl.

4Gb on iOS is not the same as 4Gb on Android as it is using garbage collection. More memory is nice but it reduces battery life so it needs to be limited.
I've heard it all now, more ram is a problem lol. Of course it is.. so is the Ipad Pro a disaster with its increased ram then?

Erm, not sure what you are on about but they release one note series a year. They skipped note 6, to tie in the 7 series with the s7.
The note 7 is released with the latest OS so again, not sure what you are banging on about.

We really need someone like Steve Jobs now. I have upgraded every year but will skip iPhone 7. Sad. (iPhone 2->3G->3GS->4->4S->5->5S->6->6S->skip->?)
The iPhone 2 was the iPhone 3G: (iPhone, 3G, 3Gs, 4 <-- see how the iPhone 4 was the 4th iPhone released?)

There were also phones with touchscreens before iPhone but many still say iPhone influenced modern phones. The Surface Pro definitely influenced iPad Pro. Apple basically changed its entire philosophy with iPad. Apple bashed the stylus and said the 9.7 was the best tablet size. Apple now markets the iPad Pro as a computer replacement, sells a stylus, & they have dramatically increased the screen size. I just don't see Apple doing that, if the Surface and even Sammy's devices had never been a thing. And the Surface Pro sells pretty well. As much as iPad? Nope. But I do think a lot of that is brand awareness. Even working at Best Buy, I've gotten many customers who get the iPad simply b/c they don't know anything else exists. Now, I don't think the iPad Pro is bad at all. I do prefer the Surface tho, largely b/c it runs a full desktop OS...as opposed to a mobile OS. But that's just me.

Apple has been influenced by Microsoft and even Samsung. iPhone's got a growth spurt largely b/c of Sammy. Many wrote off the Note/Phablet phones as a gimmick, stupid, never gonna catch on, ect. Fast forward some years later, Apple has a phablet. Apple has influenced the industry, don't get me wrong. Steve Jobs is one of the most brilliant people to have ever lived IMO. But Microsoft, Samsung, and others have also influenced the industry. I just feel they should all get their due credit. Not just Apple.

Yeah, that would actually be pretty cool. The iris scanner is something I honestly wouldn't mind seeing in an upcoming iPhone
