Does every phone model need it's own VR headset, or are the headsets compatible across phone models?

Planning on replacing my 6+ with a Note 7 ("black onyx" model). Zero interest in the next iPhone. Nothing Apple can do to the hardware will get my attention. It's all about the software, which has seen very few practical changes / feature additions. iOS 10 is really iOS 9.4. This snail's-pace "innovation" by Apple has finally gotten too old for me. Even a jailbreak isn't saving me like I thought it would.

That said, I'll have a 20-day return window, just in case!

I kinda feel the same, I am almost bored with the iOS world right now and the only thing keeping me in it is having most of my contacts on iOS for iMessage, FaceTime, and easy sharing of services. I do like the curved display, but I fear after a few months it might become annoying... we will see what Apple brings

Meanwhile: the rest of the world enjoy phones that work reliably and smoothly, as that's more important than customising icons and installing bloated widgets on an OS which uses Java for its applications.

And you get an extra five days extra aside from Apple's 15 day return policy. That's a perk.

On the bright side, the curved screen isn't nearly as curved as the GS7 Edge. It seems between that and a normal, flat phone. I don't think it'll be too bad.

You clearly haven't used recent flagship Android devices. Move along, now.

I wouldn't mind trying one for fun, but I really wish it had stock Android 7.0... I cannot stand these 3rd party android wraps... Well, hopefully Apple has a few surprises next month

.. I am kinda disappointed that Samsung basically released a Galaxy S7 Edge+

How could they release Android N? The official Nougat update is not even out for Nexus phones yet. It's probably won't be out until late September or early October alongside with the new Nexus phones. Either way, I agree it's disappointing to buy a new phone with an outgoing OS version. Then again, Android N doesn't seem like a huge update over Marshmallow, anyway. The big thing in Nougat for me was multiwindow support, and Samsung has already been doing that since the Galaxy S5.

Apple fanboys incoming... It's a amazing device which offers so much more than current iPhones. If it ran iOS i'd choose it over an iPhone...
Absolutely agree. If I could have the perfect phone, it would be the Galaxy S7 with iOS. I mean we're talking about wireless charging, fast charging, curved displays and water resistance maybe coming to next year's model when Samsung has been shipping that for a year and a half. (Waterproofing earlier this year)

It's frustrating. I love Apple and have many of their products, but the lack of progress with the iPhone, particularly it's hardware is rather frustrating. I didn't mind the less RAM, the phone performed great, but when the competition is pushing out higher resolution displays, better battery life, faster charging, wireless charging, waterproofing, 64GB base storage (when Apple MIGHT finally go to 32GB) etc. and Apple is about to release the 3rd version of the iPhone 6 with the same screen as the 2010 iPhone 4, it's incredibly frustrating and has me looking elsewhere sadly and I hate it.

How much will you be throwing away in app store purchases when you switch?

I thought this site was called MacRumors not SamsungRumors. At this point are new phones from Apple competitors really that newsworthy?

Well, if there is nothing to tell about Apple, except emoij and wristbands, for so long and other tech companies are introducing products at quadruple the pace. What should you think we should talk about?

Next April Samsung is introducing us a foldable super Amoled phone and we haven't even absorbed the shock of the iPhone 7. I don't like the company Samsung at all, but you can't dismiss they're not innovating as hell. Credit where credit is due.

This is a disappointing comment coming from you. I expect a bit of obtuse "hurr durr" from a certain element within our forum. From you, not so much. Practically speaking, there are only two mobile tech companies that matter; Apple and Samsung. Conversationally, the same dynamic exists with Apple and MS on the PC side. Thankfully, for some of us, MR doesn't seem to believe insularity makes for a good site. I shouldn't say disappointed. More like surprised.

Switching gears: All those "removing the headphone jack for water resistance" people probably need to rethink their logic on that whole scenario.

All in all, Samsung did what Apple is rumored to be doing with the iP7; iterate a successful design. Nice job though.
