Planning on replacing my 6+ with a Note 7 ("black onyx" model). Zero interest in the next iPhone. Nothing Apple can do to the hardware will get my attention. It's all about the software, which has seen very few practical changes / feature additions. iOS 10 is really iOS 9.4. This snail's-pace "innovation" by Apple has finally gotten too old for me. Even a jailbreak isn't saving me like I thought it would.

That said, I'll have a 20-day return window, just in case!

Sorry to hear that but Apple is making it very hard lately for me too.

I still find it hilarious that Samsung, pre-iPhone 6, misread what Apple was doing with "curved glass" and thought they meant curved screen, and doubled down on this idea...and now they are stuck pretending like anyone ever wanted that.

How wrong you are. The phones with curved glass/display look incredibly sexy. As for practicality - I would say it depends on your use case. I opted for a Note 5 (flat screen) vs the Galaxy S6 edge when I bought my last phone because the productivity of a stylus was more important than a slick curved. screen with what that offers.

I don't know what world you live in - but I see a lot of people who love and talk about the curved screen very positively.

Beautiful phone. 64 gb base memory and sd card slot. Great screen, great camera, quality materials, water resistant with pen slot and headphone jack. Everyone's biggest gripe is Android OS. Personally, I hate the update process and the inconsistency between manufacturers and carriers. Android is a nice OS nonetheless.

Can anyone tell me, am I reading Macrumors right now?

Haha, yep.

Incremental this, incremental that, a car in ten years rumor, blah, blah, blah. Put Page 2 items on the Front Page, still meh. Let's spice it up w/ some Samsung announcements!!! It's not MacRumors fault, but a sad, sorry state nonetheless. At least we still have our memories. RIP: The Good Ol Days.

I'll be honest, that phone looks like it kills the iphone 6S in form and in utility. I really like the idea of writing a notes on the top screen for quick note taking.

Someone just posted above why are they reading macrumors, and it's a good question. All these great ideas from other companies is what makes competition great. I thought Apple would rise to the occasion, but now it seams they Apple has prioritized design over innovation as well as design over functionality.

Tim, just leave.

I like seeing tech news in general on here. So many stuck up people in here that should appreciate competition.
I've had iPhones since 2008 and deeply in the ecosystem. I've been curious about switching for some time now since samsungs designs are pretty sexy in comparison to the aging iPhone like. Bezels are horrible and the Phone looks dated in comparison to this. Smaller footprint/bigger screen/bigger battery/ edge less display. I do hate the Samsung logo on the phone but other than that it's leaps over the iPhone in terms of design.
Anybody know if android phones can do AirPlay through an app? I use AirPlay everyday and don't know if I can loose that. Let alone my Applewatch/MacBook Pro whole ecosystem. Sigh
Apple needs to open its eyes and push again. Only thing keeping me around are the Apple Watch and MacBooks. The apps I spent lots of money on too.

This is a disappointing comment coming from you. I expect a bit of obtuse "hurr durr" from a certain element within our forum. From you, not so much. Practically speaking, there are only two mobile tech companies that matter; Apple and Samsung. Conversationally, the same dynamic exists with Apple and MS on the PC side. Thankfully, for some of us, MR doesn't seem to believe insularity makes for a good site. I shouldn't say disappointed. More like surprised.

Switching gears: All those "removing the headphone jack for water resistance probably need to rethink their logic on that whole scenario"

All in all, Samsung did what Apple is rumored to be doing with the iP7; iterate a successful design. Nice job though.

The User your referring to usually makes similar posts in that fashion, at least from the time I have been on here. Some just find grounds to belittle Macrumors.

Honestly, I appreciate Macrumors posting threads on other Competitors, it keeps me
From having to research other sites and I can view all My material all on one site.

The iPhone 7 will be a day one purchase. I'm hoping for a surprise or two we have not seen leaks or reports of. See you at the September Key Note.

I think asking for 4 gb for the future isn't too much to ask. It would help the phone for future iOS updates.
4Gb on iOS is not the same as 4Gb on Android as it is using garbage collection. More memory is nice but it reduces battery life so it needs to be limited.

The last few Samsung devices have really made me question why I'm using an iPhone. Apple really hasn't wowed me in the last few releases, yet I bought them. The upcoming phone I will not purchase because there's just nothing new there. If next year they can't figure it all out and wow me, then something like this new samsung device will do just fine. Sure I'll lose all my applications and imessage but at least my device experience won't be stale.

I love it, well done Samsung. However after trying an android notepad I will be staying well away from anything android for years to come.

The great thing is that this is innovation from a competitor which in turn creates more invasion from Apple. Or vice-a-versa.

Go Samsung! Go Apple!

So what? Apple is getting OLED screens in 2018. Our emoji's will be 3x's bigger in iOS 10 and we have Live Photo's! Take that Samsung!
uh you do know that chances are thoes will be samsung screens right? so much for "take that samsung" the only thing samsung is going to take is apple cash for making thoes oled screens. take that apple...
