that statement is subject to personal opinion. I respect that you prefer android over iOS... But I find it very messy, disorganized and crappy in many ways. I prefer the neatness and cleanliness of iOS.... I had Android for a bit on a note 7 and it absolutely drove me nuts..... Sure there are some things it does a lot better than iOS but overall I just couldn't deal with it.
Key point - on the Note 7. A device from 2 1/2 years ago that had the notoriously awful Samsung Touch-wiz experience. Pure Android (or lightly skinned Android) has a ton of useful features and is a great overall OS. That being said, I currently run an iPhone XS Max as my daily driver because of the superior app quality and hardware from Apple.

If Samsung had a phone with a lighter Android skin like found on the Pixel lineup, I would've stayed with Android. But oh well.

Can someone explain to me why these phones still have bezels. What’s the point of they hole cut outs to hide the cameras if there are still bezels!

Yeah I dont get that either.... Not only the camera but they go out of their way to implement an in-screen fingerprint sensor, but yet have a bezel? makes no sense.

So whats your point? just get the screen protector without the hole? That doesn't seem complicated to me.

Ummm, if you get the screen protector without the hole... it has been reported that the under screen sensor does not work. How useful is a screen sensor that does not sense?

Guess I’m old when I think of this as an “S10”.

Well at least they are smaller bezels than in the past...

It’s been a long time didn’t had this feeling of checking something from Apple Store when the new iDevices is released. Didn’t bother since iPhone 7 and I used to hurry to get my hands on them. But this Galaxy Fold it really got me excited and never had this feeling for a long time. I want to see it although since I’m gonna be an iPhone user for awhile and I’m not buying I got to see it in real life. I heard the One UI is significantly better and some tech reviews already praising it.

Battery power share, so you can extremely inefficiently share power with a friend. Drain your battery 20% to give 5% to a friend! This is one of those impractical gimmicky features Samsung loves to throw into their phones - there always has to be one....
Considering how small wireless earbuds and smartwatch batteries are charging them from your phone would barely make a dent.

If you can charge the phone and wirelessly charge a device at the same time that would also be one less cable or dongle to carry.

These boards are so pro-Samsung it's ridiculous.

Folding phone aside, Samsung phones are actually focusing on real world specs for improvement. rather than silly gimmicks only a handful of people actually use. But I'm sure the kool-aid drinkers will chime in shortly about the "user experience"...

It's almost like Apples failure to innovate in the software realm is now showing in the hardware realm too. Even the lowest tier model has double the RAM as the XS. And yes, it DOES make a difference in usability.

The entire history of computing has illustrated a constant, increasing need for more processing memory. You don't even have to look too far back in Apples own product line to see a graveyard of good tech left behind by their decision to kneecap their hardware to drive future sales.

I'm going to make a not-too-bold prediction: you're not gonna hear about missed sales targets of this line of Galaxy phones.

If the One UI is what just got added to the S9+ in it's new Android update, it's not all that great. They keep re-skinning their UI, but it really doesn't look or act much different.

If you did, you did so a while ago; MacRumors has been reporting on Apple's competitors' releases for years. Here are some Samsung articles from 2011:

Samsung is especially relevant given the sordid and litigious history they have with Apple.

The funny thing now is the comments. This is the most positive comments I’ve seen I awhile and it’s for Samsung.

I don't really like Samsung and I hate the UI/software, however, I have to admit that Samsung is seems to be innovating a bit more than Apple these days.
The underscreen fingerprint sensor sounds awesome and I wish iPhone had it instead of that ugly notch.
Also, the camera seems to be on steroids so lets see the real footage/pics examples but looks great so far.
I kinda hope that Samsung and others will do well. We need Apple to be kicked in the butt and innovate again as so far there really is nothing exciting coming out of Apple.

NOT exactly sure of their Color Space, but HDR10+ video capture means Samsung beat AAPL to the punch, wrt 10-bit color capture !

That's BIG !

If their Color Space is in-deed Rec. 2020, that's NOT as good a choice as AAPL's decision to go Display P3.

Specifically, 10-bit color with Display P3 would have been the better choice ... DCI-P3 would have even been better, as well.

Rec. 2020 really requires 12-bit capture, otherwise there is a loss of color accuracy with fewer bits.

Regardless, Bravo to Samsung for achieving what AAPL could have / should have years ago !

What difference in usability does it make? Keeping 90 apps open and having all status data retained? Power users editing videos on their phone?

You know what else makes a difference in usability? UI response time! I've used enough phones (iPhone and Android/Samsung/Google) to still notice a delay in how quickly the UI responds to inputs. Samsung and Google have done some catching up, but iPhones are still world class when it comes to this.
