That's certainly not me. Will pass.

It says 200,000 folds so I guess that means 100,000 open/close.What is the limit of times that I can open and close the device? lol

Trends come and go. IMO we're about to splinter away from the current trend of focusing on giant screens and Hubble telescope time cameras. New trend will be to return to smartphones with cameras instead of DSLR cameras disguised as smartphones. Not everyone has need to share pictures of everything they do or shoot movies for Youtube and Instagram.Which you don't need if you have a smart watch.
The smart watch is really your smaller phone now.
Foldable phones were a thing back in the day of the Razor but technology and "trends" have moved on.
Really? A Makeup compact? I wonder if Apple makes anything that folds shut and has a display in the upper half that would be a more apt comparison on, you know, an Apple-focused technology site. The phone can be used folded out into a traditional smartphone shape, but it can also be used folded in half similar to a makeup compact with the bottom half propping up the top half for a hands-free mode.
My guess is Apple is a target audience for this. I.e. Samsung wants to show Apple what is possible in a future iPhone so that they can supply the flexible glass. Apple reportedly has been waiting for foldable glass to become viable. Remember Samsung won’t sell a lot of this specific model (the S20 line is their main line). Apple tends to make a smaller number of larger volume devices. So they really can’t be “first” with something experimental like this.I can see the benefit for skinny jean wearers. Something Apple should've innovated first.
It does look like a makeup compact, and with the available colors, it seems that women are a target audience. Folding to put into a purse could be an advantage (not scratching the screen, etc.).Really? A Makeup compact? While it is not for me as I simply need a phone that makes calls and receives texts for 90% of my use; the comment in TFA:Gimmicky and over priced, but interesting to see if they’ve gotten any better at this since last time.
I don't get it... The internal specs are that of a $200-400 budget phone. $1000 gets you a flagship with top specs these days. This is $1400. So... you are paying about $1000 for the ability to fold your phone? Not worth it. This should have a Snapdragon 865 for the price.
Maybe, but at least you feel real Dick Tracy like...You want to replace one device with two. Besides talking to the watch is not very comfortable.
I just don't see the point. You can't even use it when it's folded. The original Fold concept made more sense, changing from phone to tablet.
I know people here are knocking this, but its GLASS, not plastic... GLASS. thats amazing just think of future possibilities.
now this is not for me , but something like the fold that could unfold into a small tablet and with GLASS, then call me interested.
From my calculations, if you open and close this phone approx. 15 times a day, every day, the fold mechanism in the screen will last around 35 years ( or 17 years ). Not bad.
My daily average of ‘pickups’ as reported br Screentime to be above 100. If that were to be translated into unfolding the phone (which probably will be a lower number as one will leave the phone unfolded on a table some of the time) the hinge would last somewhat less than 2000 days or five to six years.Did you read the article? 200,000.

You can answer your phone and see messages on a watch, and what's the point of taking a selfie if you can't see what you're taking?
