One things for sure, I've never had a touch sensitive button fail on my Galaxy S like the three failures I've had on the old style mechanical home buttons that Apple uses on my iPhone 4.

Ironically none of my older iPhones failed either. It's a shame that Apples quality seems to be falling off. They can certainly afford to do better. It's this type of issue that reeks of profit taking.

Nice piece of kit, but that screen is just too big for a phone. There's no chance of any privacy on the train to work using that thing.

And a stylus? Please ...

That makes more sense. :D

It's a massive phone to try and carry around in your pocket.

Yeah, there's no doubt that this isn't for everyone, but I'd happily give it a try. I think it may be a bit large even for me but I find it interesting that Samsung is offering such a wide range of sizes to try cater to everyone, I think that's a great way to try meet everyone's needs. I think this would be a great phone for someone who wants a smartphone and tablet but cant afford both, a convergence device of sorts.

Fair comment.

Yeah this time Samsung suing Apple. They did unveil first.

It looks like the 4. No one knows what the 5 looks like and so its irrelevant. Apple have another case against Samsung. Samsung just arent doing themselves any favours. Is that a wrap around antenna too?

A size comparison with the iPhone 4...

Nice screen size; Hope Apple bring it in similar dimension. Would make reading much easier. Nice to see some competition still around ... It can only help us to keep Appe challenged

Well said.

I must say that as much as I love Apple, and have for years way before smartphones, it's sad to see them cling to the tiny screen they use.

I have both an iPhone 4, and a Galaxy S II (after a year with a Galaxy S) and using the iPhone feels terribly cramped after you've had the pleasure of a larger display.

I'd love nothing better than for Apple to use a modern sized screen.

It's bigger, and it doesn't really.

i think if i didn't have an ipad this phone would be perfect as i wouldn't crave a much larger screen.

I do like the samsung galaxy design and large screens but I have to see what the iphone 5 will look like.

as good as it might look, I think it's too big, I'd rather have a 4" (which imo is a max for a phone) phone rather than the 5.3" as it's much easier to handle and you don't have to add a massive pocket to you trousers/jacket specifications

I had the original Dell Streak 5" phone for few months and would be interested in this.

There are 2 problems I can see. One is the battery life, the Streak was terrible, I think Samsung needs to put in 2500mAh to get decent battery life on a screen that size.

Second is Ice Cream Sandwich is coming out later this year without the physical buttons. It’s a hard choice choosing this over newer phones designed based on the new OS.

How bout a 5100mAh battery?

Just when I think I'm going to jump on the GS2, they show this. Hopefully they announce some release info by the 18th + 30 days :D

It seems to me the only thing Android OEM's try to have is a super large screen. IMHO, anything over 4" is too large.

I hate this weak argument of "it's too big for pockets" I just checked and this phone is narrower than my wallet, which fits perfectly fine in my somewhat tight jeans. With girls/womens pants I see the problem, but there's the same problem with all other phones. What pant do people wear with these minuscule pockets?

I get that the phone is big, but it's not too big for the majority of pockets.

We can dream! But i don't think so, the Streak had around 1800mAh and the Galaxy Tab 7" had 4000mAh. I'd like to see at least 2250mAh for this phone/tablet. This should give around 4hrs of continues use.

5.3 inch screen with a stylus.

why would you want that on a phone??

There is this thing called "handwriting", which is impossible to do properly with an iPad, for example. "Drawing" is another example for something that's impossible to do nicely without a pen or stylus.

And the 5.3 inch screen... Absolutely beautiful AND useful. I could finally do remote system administration from a phone that has a screen size that's big enough to provide sufficient ergonomics for that task. Mega cool!

When I typed that...I was under the impression that it was packing the 5100 but that's for the 7.7. I did think that seemed a bit monstrous lol

Phonearena is showing it will have a 2500 though
