I think it looks impressive, and could be a good phone. Unfortunately, I don't think that I could ever deal with such a large device. It simply becomes impractical and unwieldy at that size.

There is definitely a market for a phone with such a huge screen so it's pointless arguing that this is good or bad. It's personal preference.

That said, I myself would love a 4.3" screen on the iPhone - 5.3" is a little big for my pants pocket, although I would love it if it did fit comfortably.

At first I was like... wow, what the heck is Samsung thinking?!

And then I watched the youtube video of the phone (err... tablet phone?) in action, and now I'm like... wow, Samsung really did think something here!

This phone's not for me, but it definitely has some very good potential, and definitely looks to be pointed towards a certain group of people who don't want to carry around giant 9" or 10" tablets, but would like to have the benefits of a bigger screen. The stylus thing too... that actually looks quite good.

As for if it looks like the iPhone 5 (or at least the Photo Stream iPhone), then most definitely it does. But the question remains... who copied who?!

Whether or not it fits in my pocket, it looks too big to fit comfortably in my girly little hand. But I'm sure some people will love it, so good for them. :)

Give me something like this in a 4.5" screen and I'd be very happy. As much as I want a larger screen, this may be a little to big for me.

looks like an iPhone killer, if apple fails to deliver I wouldn't be surprised people move to the galaxy note

For anyone who wants to jump ship to Android, or any other device because it has a feature or two that the iPhone doesn't, I say let me hold the door for you on the way out.

For anyone who has uttered the statement, "If Apple doesn't bring <feature xyz> to the new iPhone 5 then they cannot possibly compete and I may just have to switch to Android" then let me say good riddance.

I for one wouldn't jump ship under any foreseeable future development, unless Apple stopped making iPhones, or abandoned their unique design vision. You might think that this must make me a blind Apple fan-boy sheep, but this is incorrect. The reason I won't jump ship is because that no other phone hardware/software maker can innovate a better UI (in my opinion), better hardware, and they certainly cannot bring a device to market that works with Apple's ecosystem.

A UI that hasn't changed in the past 3 years is not innovative

Hmmm, interesting comment.

In the last 3 years iOS has added the following UI changes:

1. Copy and paste
2. Folders
3. Multi-tasking/App switcher
4. Revamped notifications (iOS 5)

And they have added the following functionality:

5. Game center
6. Voice memos
7. Nike +
8. Facetime
9. Camcorder capabilities
10. Video Editing
11. iBooks
12. AirPlay

So no changes, you say? It doesn't seem to be the case. If on the other hand you are arguing that they should have re-written the UI to look completely different from verison 1 by now, then that is a different complaint altogether, and not likely a very popular one.

People love iOS, which is why droves and droves of people continue to buy the iPhone. Why reinvent the wheel when you still have the best wheel in the industry? Sure this is my opinion, but it is obviously the opinion of millions of people who keep plopping down their money for each new version of the iPhone.

HD Super AMOLED display?

Not HD...and obviously doesn't have the S pen, and I would think the 4.3-4.5 is too small to deal with a pen anyway.

----------

The S2 has Super AMOLED Plus qHD display (960 x 540) not sure the exact ppi, but most qHD displays are around 275ppi.
Still very decent in my book.

I think it's only 480x800. I believe it's the same on both sizes as well. Wish it was qHD

Ha no worries. I don't know why it's not qHD, but looks good from what I've seen and read. Can't wait to get my hands on one to check it out.

I don't know why it's not qHD either... Text looks like GARBAGE. Everything's fuzzy. It does NOT look good. Colors are amazing though :) I use my iPhone for reading text. My Infuse is best for videos :)

Yeah,... that was what the Engadget reviewer complained about.
The lack of a qHD display.

My Atrix has a qHD display, it's only drawback is uses a Pentile display, but at normal viewing distances you would never know it.
Having 275 ppi doesn't hurt either. ;)

I had an Atrix but returned it @30 days. Email didn't work and there were a couple of other things I wasn't happy with. I read a lot of complaints about the screen, but had no issues with it really. Next to an iP4, wasn't as sharp. But colors were good and text wasn't blurry IMO. Definitely a pretty good display.

5.3" 1280x800 display? 1.4ghz dual core processor? This is one impressive device! Just a bit too big for me, though.
